The Queens Of All Things Teen
They may have worn Fendi and Versace to their sophomore prom, but in the tween and teen fashion lines they sell through about 2,900 Wal-Mart stores nationwide (and 5,300 stores globally), the hard-driving Olsen twins take it down a couple of notches. "It's not a high-end thing," explains Robert Thorne, CEO of Dualstar Entertainment Group, parent company of all Mary-Kate and Ashley items. "We want to be available to everyone, not just the beautiful people."
It's a strategy that has paid off: the mary-kateandashley brand is the fastest-growing fashion line for tweens (ages 6 to 12) and teens in the U.S., racking up at least $400 million in sales at Wal-Mart last year. With low-priced apparel flying off the shelves in select stores in Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and France, and a billion-dollar empire that includes apparel, accessories, fashion dolls, videos and DVDs, the Olsens are among the most powerful women in fashion. Their personal fortunes are estimated at $150 million each—and they don't turn 18 until June.
First off, they piss the hell outta me.
Second off, why should these girls, slated for a Playboy shoot last I heard, be considered role models on any level? As if one Britney wasn't bad enough.
Opinions?

I don't know, two girls with nothing building a billion dollar empire by the time they were 17 is pretty darn impressive to me. Add in that they have kept out of controversy, drugs, alcohol and all of the other childstar downfalls.
America watched these two grow up from infants and through all of that they have been very wholesome and good role models for teens and the like. That Playboy rumor is fake.
The quote you highlighted was said by Robert Thorne so I wouldn't take it as a popshot from the twins.
I wouldn't classify them with Britney Spears. Quite the opposite.

I believe so Soda, I think these two have way more morals and values to reduce themselves for playboy.

Exactly, I think it is everyone that works at Maxim that is wishing they did Playboy after their 'Olsen Counter' hits 18.

Morals or not, they're too smart to do the playboy thing. It's for people who are falling, or who are coming up. Those two are neither. Playboy can't offer enough to make it interesting, and they risk much of their fan base to do it.
Of course, they'd gain a whole new one from doing it, but I just don't see it happening.

Yea, I see nothing wrong with them.
Sure they are rich as hell, but I refuse to hold someones wealth against them. If people are willing to buy their stuff all the power to them.
Hating someone because they are successful, even if it is off something I would consider crap, is just as bad as hating someone because they are poor.
I wouldnt mind seeing the playboy shoot though :p

I don't see much wrong with them. They seem to have a great image and a great business behind them. Plus you don't hear about them getting into any trouble, at least not yet.
What's up with everyone slamming Playboy?? I happen to think it is a very tasteful mag. And I'm not being facetious. Anyways, that's another topic!
As for the twins, they are what this great nation is all about! More power to them! I wish them the best. I don't think any of us can even imagine the pressure they are under! I hope the image that has been presented of them is close to how they actually are, because I think they are on the right track.
Just my 2 cents ans usual.

If they pull a Britney when they hit 18 there going to lose there fanbase big time. So don't bet on them showing up in Playboy any time soon.
