Hey guys,

I'm moving to the States in a few months and would be grateful if you could help me out on something.

Could anyone tell me what the DSL connection is like over there or does it vary alot?

In the UK, the standard is 512kb ADSL with 258KB upstream (upstream for hosting and running a dedicated game when I'm not playing). Would I be able to get a better upstream than that Stateside. I've heard mention of SDSL, which I assume means you all get something like 512kb both ways, which is a reason to move over the Pond in itself =].

Cheers,

Chris"MyB4d"Thornett

Here's a website (http://www.dslreports.com/archive?c=us) that has the download and upload for U.S. ISP's. Not all of them are DSL (if that matter's to you.)

Generally depending on Cable or DSL Satelite Etc.. speeds can vary from 128K up stream usually the LOWEST end to I've seen Cable with up to like 900 or so up.. Mine I play on cable with a 384 up and around 1800-1900 down.. 256 up I think is more of a standard find though...

Standard package where I live is 128 up. We only have one option.

Only $10 extra to boost it to 256 and it's definitely worth it.
