Yo, I have to voice my opion about SB. I just recieved the reissue of SB. I have seen games and I have to say this game is n i c e. I don't belong to many site's on the Web and the few I belong to di this game. Saying the the pace, visuals and control were weak. I personaly sumize it as learing to drive a tank. Some said that the controler could be placed on the normal joy pad. But for the fact that this game seems more militaryish than most military games is just phenonminal. The toggle switches are why this controler had to be built. The level of detail is astounding and I'm thinking "Damn" when I play this game. This is more real than TC: RSix3. The developers wanted you to move a sixty foot weapon. What if the military DID have this type of machine? YOU would want to drive it to. Not only that, as strict as you have to be with such weapon, have someone say to you "just give them (enemies) a warning shot". They just gave YOU that toy. There is nothing, Nothing to not love about this game. If complicated machinery bore you, OK, I see you point. But this game was made in saying "here is the wiring, here is the ****pit, there are your pedals and here is your view!" What would you do if you just got recrutied and a war breaks out? I did some bad things to keep me out of the military and always wanted to know what it was like to drive that tank. Dude, Capcom had my back! Not only have I made right with my wrongs but Capcom made this game. When you got to the military, you play games, WAR games. Big toy war games. But first, it used to be learn the engine so you can fix it, and then you go out and try to pilot a tank or other military vec. Nowa days, you go to a simulaer after class to learn to drive a tank. But these "toys" are part of the lure in the military. This game is it. I tried to play online with LoC and got embarrassed. I went out there with very little practice and while gamers helped, I should have practice more. I now see what it would take to drive a tank, any tank, it just so happens to be a sixty foot-two- legged freak with weapons -tank! I just needed to vent on a few points and was wondering what others thought. Thank you. SlaveZero!

I was curious if Skoot had the game. I play w/ him on live, and didn't know.

Don't be an idiot. If I wanted to insult you or your thread. I would have quoted you and done it directly. Are you seriously that retarded?

Steel Battalion would need to be just about the best game I would ever play in my life to be worth spending well over a hundred quid on.

I'm terrible for frittering money away but couldn't live with myself were I to spend so much, especially all at once, on a game.

Do people find it's really worth all that money?

I haven't really heard of anyone who was disappointed. I had little interest in it the first time around, w/ no live and all.

Besides, I don't think I've seen a used one go for less than $150 on ebay. So even if you're disappointed, you're only out the price of one game if you want to resell.

That's a good point. Quite a few people seem to have been able to sell the first one on for a profit, so it's not a dead loss even if it is horrible.

Still, I'm too much of a hoarder to part with anything (you should see the state of our house for proof of this) and I'm too stingy to shell out the cash for a single game.

I look at it like this, if by chance I don't like SB anymore (fat chance) I could resell it. I also have looked high and low for the game after the first release but could not find it and was happy that they put out the second edition, plus made it online. But it is definitly a must have and will garner extra cash on ebay or your local paper! I paid $250. for SB and LoC in one shot, so I paid out the butt, I know I will get my money back from either play or resell. This game is for the extreme players, you don't just "play" you have to drive , react, stragitgize and have patients.
