I think that the sound quality in halo was good but I was just listening to a movie that my parents were watching and he has this really cool sounding small souround sound speakers. They are small but they pack a big punch. Halo2 will be the greatest video game ever made but what about the sound quality of it. I think it was dts. I don't know what dts is, please I'm a noob at this, help me:D . All I know about DTS is that is sounds cool, and ya, thats about it. I just wanna know, will halo 2 have as good of a sound quality as a movie like hmmmm....... Lord of the rings return of the king?

DTS = Digital theater systems.
Yes, halo 2 sound WILL kick ass, well from what i've heard from the updates. Halo was "surround" but not nearly as surround as halo 2. In halo not everything was full surround, the bullets were stereo(from 2 speakers) but halo 2 should use all the speakers from everything. Which is as good as you get.

think of it like a 12 gage shot all through your body.
and thats without the subs, and speakers for the surround sound on :)

You took the wear and tear from my keyboard, man...nice work :D
Yes, not everything in the first Halo used 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. But, everything in Halo 2 will fully utilize it...great stuff.
Oh, and DTS is simply another audio format. It's like Dolby Digital, however, it's based on another standard. From a listener's standpoint, it seems to me that DTS brings out sounds that are generally very faint when listening to Dolby Digital....
Not many movies support DTS compared to all the DVD movies out there....but, the ones that do, I usually put my surround sound on DTS mode anytime it's available!
Gladiator anyone?! :D

First off Butterz, if you want to learn anything (and more) that you want to know about sound (including DTS) and video go check out LynxFX-XBA's site (http://www.lynxfx.com/).
:cheers:
:edit: and theres nothing like a movie in DTS :)... and I can't wait to hear the bullets whizzing past my head in surround sound when I get my copy of Halo 2 :D
