There is no official confirmation on the return of Blood Gulch. But I assure you, there will be better levels in Halo 2 so it won't matter if Blood Gulch is in or not. Besides, it's an old level so just play Halo if you want to play that (assuming it isn't in Halo 2). Don't kick a dead horse (in other words, Blood Gulch is old, don't bring it back).

Wait until Bungie announces everything @ E3 or right around launch time. No need to speculate on stuff that has no foundation.

Whos give a **** about blood gulch. I mean seriously, the level is cool only on Halo 1. I think sw was better though. Think about all the levels we will have on multiplayer. We will probally have city maps that are huge. We will probally have maps that are 10x the size of bg and a range of 20-32 players. We could fly dropships to certain locations to drop of soldiers and bomb targets. Halo 2 will kick ass.

Personally, I would love to see Blood Gulch remade for Halo 2. It's a sweet map and playing it over XBox Live would be sweet. I hope they bring back many of the original Halo multi-player maps and add a ton more...just for the sake of being able to play on XBL. But, regardless, whatever they deliver, I know I'll be content.

Sure, Blood Gulch is getting old, however, it is one of the best maps on Halo and it wouldn't shock me that it would be in Halo 2.

Another map I would love to see in Halo 2 would be Hang Em High...I love that map.

Here's my list of favorite to lease favorite ranked in order of the first Halo:

1. Hang Em High
2. Blood Gulch (very close second)
3. Prisoner
4. Derelict
5. Chill Out
6. Battle Creek
7. Rat Race
8. Wizard
9. Sidewinder
10. Boarding Action
11. Chiron

This is off the top of my head...am I missing any!?

That was a tough list to make only because I like different maps equally but differently. Hang Em High and Blood Gulch are definately my favorite....but, I would rank Prisoner, Derelict, Chill Out, Battle Creek and Rat Race my second place choice, if I could. Then 3rd place would be Wizard and Sidewinder...and finally, 4th would be Boarding Action and 5th being Chiron.

They aren't.

They are to big, way to big. Well... one of them, imagine 3 sidewinders:watchout: . Geardbox should have put more time into making it run good as apposed to making new levels that aren't as good as bungies.

I like sw and I would love those for xbox. If they did have 20-32 players I think that would work perfectly.

Oh ya- I would play BG on Halo 2 if they just made it a little bigger.

This is my biggest concern. I don't want Halo 2 to become Halo PC with half the maps being huge. I hate those types of maps because it is mostly vehicle battles and that is just stupid. Hopefully they will bring levels like HeH and Prisoner back, those are great levels.

Ya I'm sure bungie will have small maps too. Maybe they will have a mapmaker:D :D !!!! Anyways I like the big maps. You can do anything, I would go into a warthog, drive, gun. shoot on the passenger side. If I'm not in the warthog I would find a place that is a good sniping point, or just hard to see me and snipe. Or I would get out a battle rifle and cap some heads with that thing. Just hit and hide and I do that most of the game. Or I could get double uzi's and a battle rifle. I could go into the middle and blow the **** out of their vehicles. Then if I need to use a flash I would just switch back to my battle rifle.

Edited: Think of my sig. The city. Also think about if you could have dropships and destroy parts of bildings and stuff. You don't have the whole city but you have a good part/ portion of it. You can snipe on buildings and you can blow the parts of buildings up that the snipers are on.

THINK OF ALL THE POSSIBLITIES!!!!!!! : )

I like the size of BG. With 6+ people it is awsome, because it's a pistol level, perfect distances for it. Any bigger and it's not a pistol level and it's either a sniper and vehicle, or so big like infinity that it's just vehicle.

the mp maps i liked the most on halo1 (in order) were hang em high, prisoner, and sidwinder. Bg wasn't that fun imo becuase it was just to simple for me, also cause every time i would play it on xbc i would get pwned, and i can tell u right now i hate geting pwned. I am use to owning other people on sdw heh or prisoner. So if Bg isn't in halo2 I really wouldn't care, but hopfully hem, p, and sdw are. Even if they arn't am sure there will be new maps that r much better.

I really hope there is a water mp map. U know, 1 that has like 2 islands with a base on each, and a tunnel underwater that leeds to each of the bases. If there is, it would be nice if there were some kind of water vehicle(a transporter with a gun mounted on it for ex). Also it would really be cool if the top of the tunnle was glass so u could see what was going on above u. Just imagine a guy geting shot and killed on the transporter then falling off the boat and sink then laying to rest on the glass. That would be awsome.

Host, you wont get pwned. Its great cause then you know you don't really suck. I totally owned them and I had 10 more kills than the 2nd place guy and by far the least deaths.

Well i would host if i could but i cant. It dosn't work at all for me.
All i get is massive lag spikes every 2 secs, so it makes it imposible to play when i host a game.

Well instead of glass it would have to be some kind of plasma shield, like what the bridges were made out in halo. And also i forgot to say that the tunnel would be far enough down that if the vehical were to explode the glass wouldn't break.:D

But yeah it would also be cool to see the under water tunnel emplode and have all the water rush in.

Ok in Reply to the copy and past below... Bigger levels and more players like 20-32 is retarded... If you disagree you are retarded! Dont get me wrong I would love to play a massive army of people online. But most people lag when you have 8 or more multi players in a room... and the bigger the level the worse they lag... If you had bigger levels there would be to much running to kill one another or to many vehicle wars. I have no problem running 12 on my LAN connection, but even my lan would bog and lag with 20-32 players.... that isnt any fun... and someone else made a good point. The bigger the levels the more there are just vehicle fighting. If you want vehicle fights play something like Cel Damage (its like Twisted Metal). Us True Halo fans like the true essence of first person shoter. You all need to stop complaining though. Put Trust in the makers, they made a good game once. As long as they keep it basically the same update the graphics and add a few things here and there, All there players will be satisfied!

I agree, man...I don't mind if there are a few big maps, but, I like the mid to smaller maps better. I only like vehicles if it's the Warthog only during CTF.

I absolutely despise the Ghost Ships...and the tanks are border-line useless. One headshot with a Sniper takes someone right out of a tank...I can do it every time.

But, with Halo 2, there is the new added element of entering a foe's vehicle...I can see a huge benefit from this defensively with an enemy Ghost Ship....eventhough I'll likely play games without them.

Very good point, but, I'm kinda with Jon on this one..... I mean, even more than a total of 6 players on Blood Gulch CTF can be too much. 4 v 4 is still pretty cool...but, in a perfect world, 3 v 3 is best, IMO.

8 v 8 on Blood Gulch with the first Halo is ridiculous. I have done it several times...probably hundreds...and it's still nothing like a tactical 3 v 3 match. I also like 2 v 2 on that map.

The only games where I enjoy 16 dudes on the first Halo are games where I'm in the mood for complete mayhem. Get about 16 dudes all equiped with Rocket Launchers at Hang Em High...that's pretty friggin' nuts. Or Shotguns only without shields at Wizard...great times. But, this isn't at all what I like to do the vast majority of the time.

I guess Halo 2 is going to be a whole different ball of wax, though...it might make more sense to have more players....but, I'm still pretty skidish about more than 16. I have a good server, but, I know I wouldn't want to host that much eventhough I could.

The rule of thumb is, IMO: More doesn't always mean better.

Because the person posting it is the only one that cares, and it wastes thread space.

Back on topic:

Bungie wouldn't add the possibility of more than 16 players if it wasn't good. Why are you guys worrying about Halo 2 so much? You do realize Bungie is making it right? The "Holy Grail" of game development is in their hands and they are polishing it to a beautiful sheen as I type. Stop worrying because it is all for nothing! ;)

I'm keeping an open mind with a ton of players, however, with the current Halo, I don't think more is better. Now, don't get me wrong, I like the option, but, often don't take that road unless I'm at a 16 man LAN game playing the first Halo.

It's kinda how my car's speedometer says that my car will go 155 mph, however, I would never go that fast (for fear of a cop waiting to bust my ass), however, I do like to have the ability to go that fast :D

Exactly, but, I'd even go as far as saying 4 v 4 can be too much sometimes. Don't get me wrong, it a game is going, I'll be in it for sure, but, in a perfect world, I dig a good 3 v 3 CTF at BG anytime.

If thats possible, then yes, it would be very sweet. We'll have to wait for Bungie to release more MP features, b/c all we have to go on right now is old Halo. Like Max said, 3v3 is perfect for just about any game, after that, CTF games take too long and TS games are freakishly fast. If you are playing a "mayhem" game (rockets, shotty no shields, etc.) then a lot of players is fun, but the perfect amount IMO is 3v3.

I'm a little skidish on the ideas of new features going too crazy...air-strikes? I don't know, man...nothing would irritate me more if Bungie made Halo 2 with ideas of RTCW...Man, I hate RTCW with a passion. It blows...

But, I'm rest assured, Bungie is not likely going to screw up Halo 2. They know what made the first Halo so bad ass...and the response from all of the fans should be an indicator that it'll be very similar...but on crack :D

Yup, quoted form the documentary: Jason Jones. I'm sure if the "airstrikes" or other features work out, they will include them in the game, but otherwise, Bungie will leave them out, I have all my confidence in them.

While I wouldn't normally bother to respond to someone who states "if you disagree you are retarded" I think you need to realize that part of what make Halo so much fun is that players have the option of getting into the vehicles. It's part of what stops the gameplay from going stale. If all you did was run around capping guys with pistols, it's not likely the game would have lasted this long. Trying playing a Crazy King type of game in BG or SW with full vehicles. It's really fun.

We usually only do the default 3 captures. Even those games can last a long long time.

A lot of the guys I play with are really good and they play with awesome tactics. Lots and lots of defense with surprise offense is key against extremely good players....but, it also depends on certain circumstances.

I'm referring to a good 2 v 2 or 3 v 3 bout...obviously, conditions change when there are more peeps.

We also toy around with the 5 second respawn and 10 second respawn. I prefer the quicker respawn because it's more intense...I hate waiting if I die.

Unlockables are fine if they are (keyword) reasonable. But Bungie did have an unlockable; the secret ending for beating the game on legendary. Man, was that funny the first time I saw it. Too bad OXM put the secret ending on one of their discs which gave it away to people who failed to earn it.

As far as unlocking modes and weapons for multiplay, yeah, that would be lame. Then again, if a game is fun, players don't mind unlocking.

I wouldn't call that Legendary ending an unlockable, more like a special reward for beating the last level on Legendary.

Don't expect any unlockables in Halo 2 because Bungie knows that they are a cheap way to increase the replay value of a game. They know that if a game is good, that will be enough.

Special rewards, unlockables, aren't they pretty much the same animal?

A single special ending is not an unlockable because in this case there is only one, and it doesn't affect the game in any way.

An unlockable is more of an system that gives you extra weapons/levels/etc. for completing certain tasks.

I'd consider different endings to be part of the same idea, so nyeh! :p

1. Prisoner
2. Hang 'em High
3. Battle Creek
4. Chill Out
5. Rat Race
6. Longest
7. Damnation
8. Blood Gulch
9. Sidewinder
10. Boarding Action
11. Wizard
12. Chiron

Now why did I post that? Because presuming what other people will and will not find interesting is arrogant and asinine. Seriously Zero, who are you to tell people what to post? Personally, upon reading those posts, I saw people say "Hey, your list is like mine!". That is hardly indicative of the poster being the only one that cares. So as your premise is evidently false, I offer an alternative; You don't like it. Too bad, threads take on a life of their own, people will share what infomation they care too.

That said, I couldn't care worth a monkey's nuts whether BG is included in Halo 2. Let sleeping dogs lie. It's a great CTF map and good for vehicular combat.

As for the other multitude of points brought up...I think the beauty of Halo is how flexible the multi-player is. You can make the game play in any number of unique ways with simple easy adjustments, so numerous and obvious I needn't list them. The bottom line? Halo MP is what you want it to be, and that is fantastic.

PS. Please oh please lord's of Bungie: Include a Map Editor.

I presume to find this post arrogant, asinine, and silly. :D
Seriously, it's bad form to lecture another member like this. Send him a PM. Zero is a long time and highly contributive member, as well as fundamentalist Bungie believer. Sometimes he says silly things, but don't we all? All I'm saying is, be cool, man, be cool.

Yea, they are probably keeping bloodgulch, which will be dope to get back to. But i agree there will be way better.

P.S. Boondock Saints kicks ass

I told people, "Please don't post a list of your favorite levels."

I was asking them politely not to post that because I believe it wastes thread space because no one really cares. (I'm sure I'm not the only one who just brushes over the lists)

Please don't resort to labeling someone you don't know (arrogant/asinine) over a simple opinionated suggestion.

I don't want to end this so that we don't end up on an unfriendly note, so I am offering a mug to you in reparation for any undue discordation I may have caused:

And Alex, 'fundamentalist' is a HUGE understatement. Click on my homepage link. ;)

Saying they will probably keep it is a BIG statement considering no-one outside of Bungie (and some in Microsoft) have any idea. I'm sure you can honestly say you have "No F'in clue!" ;)

And yes, The Boondock Saints kicks multiple ass!

Fair enough. Though to be clear, I called the comments "A/A" not you personally. I guess maybe all the hostility on the Ubi forums got to me. Sorry. I accept the mug and return one of my own. I apologize for over-reaction. I've read many posts by you that are insightful/intelligent.

Gollum, I visit the HBO forums, so I know what you mean when you say 'hostility.' There are people that show up and brag about tricks etc. that were found a week after the game was even released (like the Marine on top of 343 Guilty Spark), and people who say that EB has Halo 2's release date set for April or whatever. You can imagine how they are dealt with. ;)

BG is still in the original Halo, why do you need it in second? I would like to see a similarly setup level but not a replica. I don't care if they include the old levels, but if they do include them, Chiron can stay the crap out of second, played a 1-1 for an hour, score was 1-0.
