One of my favorite features about one of my all-time favorite games is the profile stats in Perfect Dark. How do you guys feel about this, or do you know if this has been discussed by Bungie?
I just htink it would be sweet to have a running total of your wins, losses, kills, bullets fired, damage taken etc. Furthermore, some MP awards after each game would be cool (like bond and PD). Something like "Head Shot Award" "Wheres the Armor" or "Killmaster." These features really caused some gloating and cheers from my friends and I back in the day.

No details have been hinted at by Bungie. But the Perfect Dark stats were sweet, and I hope there are some single player stats too so you can see how many enemies you took out of commission! :)

I also forgot to mention the ranks you got in PD as you advanced your profile's stats.

I hope so, I was always a fan of the rankings (such as head shot award)... because when I was playing against my brothers, forever ago, even If I didn't win... I would always get something like the head shot award while they got the 'wheres the armor'... It was a way for me to win even if I didn't... Yes that would be very cool in H2
Good thought, I hope Bungie gets a hold of it

Hopefully they won't have that on XBL, but I like the idea of awards post-game. :)

I think comprehensive online stats would be good for judging the best player. Don't know why you don't! ;)

Stats on XBL never work. Stats just show who has nothing else to do but play on Live. Also, I don't like the idea because you can't measure your skill online. And of course here is gonna be a bunch of noobs running their mouth and never going to a LAN/tourny. :(

I could care less about the online stats, I just want them on every profile in the normal offline game.

I know I'd love to see the total amount of headshots I have made :) But it will be very dumb on XBL cause that is just for fun. LANs and tournies is where the sh1talking begins :D :D

I like the idea of endgame rewards...kinda like Unreal Championship had. A little recognition never hurt :)

It's too easy for people to fudge stats. As long as you can go online w/ splitscreen, then start a game with just yourself and proceed to murderize the vacant player, people, err, kids, will continue to take advantage and stats become meaningless.

Thats why you play them and make them live up to those stats, its easy to tell who fudges and who doesn't

Stats to me are for my own personal satisfaction. I would like to see how many people I have conquered in the online arena. I don't care about other people's, I'm just curious as to how good at the game I am.

And after you beat them they go on to kill a bunch of newbs on their host....
I really don't think stats are a good idea on XBL. It will just encourage players to cheat the system somehow and ruin it for everyone.

I completely agree...I would rather see end game rewards... like on Unreal Championship. They are meaningless when the next round starts...everyone is even again and trying to earn the rewards again the next round.
On-line stats are pretty stupid...like on Rainbow Six: 3. I mean, who cares?

I think online stats is a good idea. I mean you can see what kind of person you're facing against therefore you know which people to be careful of. You can see each player's ability so you can try to improve you skills.

I would like to have something where youu can just totally delete your stats. But you have a limit on it how many times you can do it cause I'm alright at realistic shooters but I am better at the non realistic ones like counter strike. On counter strike I can own but my stats are like at 10,000 when they should be at like 1,000 or 2,000. Same with a lot of people.
Maybe they should give you the option to have stats or not or maybe they shouldnt have stats at all. OR better idea, they should give you the stats but only for yourself and your friends. Or have rankings like they did in perfect dark.:D It would be sooo awesome. I think it would be best to just have em to yourself, have them to yourself and your friends, or don't have them at all. I will have to agree that stats won't be really great on xbl for halo like they are on rainbow or counter strike.
Another thang would be if they just had stats on some servers.

When it gets down to it, I could care less about the XBL stats, I jsut want them on my profile that I use offline (unless they will be one in the same).

How about a compromise? What do you guys think of this idea (as if it's going to happen or something... :D)
Let's say that Halo 2 has stats...but, not regarding how many total kills, deaths, etc... but, let's say it had end-game rewards...kinda like how Unreal Championship does. For example: Head Shot Award, most accurate shooter, most deaths award, and a slew of other things.
Wouldn't it be cool to have the stats actually show how many awards you have won?
Take for example that I earned the Head Shot Award 48 times. (This would have to have been 48 seperate games/rounds)...and those stats showed up only...not how many kills/deaths and stuff.
Do you guys feel me here?

I think weighted stats would be a good idea. You receive an overall grade that was dependent upon your performance against other players who are rated in the same manner. This way, people who cheat and play against themselves will receive no boost because the stats would reflect that they simply beat someone who has no wins. Kind of like college basketball rankings but this would all be done mathematically.

That would take a lot of math, but why not? Sounds like a great idea to me.
I always wanted those end game rewards Max, always loved em in Goldeneye. The stats I only want on the profiles (like SP and MP) only on your box. To avoid stats going to XBL, they might have seperate profiles for XBL and offline.

Oh, I see...kinda like Links 2004...
For instance, I would win the longest drive award, however, then I would notice that someone before me actually out drove my ball. So, you're saying a localized statistic...now, that makes sense.

I can guarantee Bungie will have an innovative new stats system, so I will wait and see.

Definately...this is one thing I'm actually really excited about...but, I don't want to see something corny, which I doubt will happen.
I love the idea of end game rewards...they could even have some funny ones...like Rocket Whore, or Sniper Whore, etc :D

Hehe, what about "Power-up Whore!"
One of my friends ALWAYS gets the active camo, but when you tell him that, he says he only picked it up maybe twice. BS! I always kill him when he is going for it or after he picks it up!

hahaha
deffinitly......
its even better, when u play against the gr8 teams, we all time the powerups.... so its crazy... all about control
StudioAlex

I do wish they'd give you option of removing the power ups, also to have them but make them appear in random locations. That would be good for the weapons as well.

i dont, i suppose if im playin just for fun, but when i play halo, i play serious.... i dont want sum1 beatin us cz of a lucky camo respawned at their feet.... and at a place like bloodgulch, everyone would go for it, and no1 would get it (if it was way back in the middle of the open) .....

I'm saying, give me the option. If you don't like it, you don't have to use it, but someone else might find it useful.

I would definately get the "Overshield Whore" award because you will rarely see me without it (except on select levels).
Thats a good idea tho Alex, like Overshield Only, Cloak Only, or No Powerups. I also hope they add in the time limit feature that PC has. I think a 15min slayer would be cool as opposed to a 50 kill, something different to see how many kills you can rack up.
Some more awards: Immortal Award (Least Deaths), Lemming Award (Most Deaths and/or Suicides), Classic Goldenye: Where's the Ammo?, The Rocky Award (Consistent Melee attack), Killmaster 50+, and Killmaster 100+.
