I'm hoping this game lives up to what its saying it will be able to do. I'm a very classic RPG fa (Chrono trigger, FF series, secret of mana etc.), so these "new" RPGs have been kind of boring. Hopefully fable changes that.

I agree. The last RPG I really liked was Diablo II and KOTOR was alright.

Now don't say that it's just an action game with RPG elements, because I know it is. That's the thing. When an action game with RPG elements beats out all the other RPGs, you know there is something wrong with the current state of them.

Theres really a lot more then bumpmapping, and overbumpmapping in a game looks dumb. I think fable looks really good, the only thing that i think looks poopy is that its probably going to be grainy, 480p with barely any antialiasing. Maybe widescreen but probably not. Those things areent a big deal to most people, but when u play on a 50inch DLP tv u see all the flaws, and only the best looking games like PGR2 and hopefully halo are still worth drooling over the gfx.
GFX aside, games like KOTOR have grainy gfx but make good use of lighting, and arent widescreen but in those cases its gameplay to the rescue, and this game will have gameplay, so theres no doubt that it will still be an amazing game overall.

Dont you realise that all good games are worth waiting for? I mean as much as i want fable and half life 2 and halo2 to come to my doorstep from my ebgames preorders today rather then next year, I understand that the only reason I have those games preordered is because the developers are doing whats best for the game, and what will make the game the best it can be.

If Fable is delayed to an xbox2 launch title (which i highly doubt), then maybe theyll bring the multiplayer aspect back to the game. Plus the graphics would be better, the NPCs would move more fluidly, more animation would be possible with more processing power, the game would most likely be widescreen and fully hdtv compatible. I personally dont think that would happen, and while i do get discouraged by game delays and setbacks, i recognize that patience is the greatest virtue, especially for a gamer who wants his anticipated game. The greatest factor in a game being good is time, or at least a major factor, trust me we dont want another Deus ex 2 fudge up. Give it time, it will come out, and it will be good.

Just imagine those screenshots above, but with perfect endless texture filtering, complete antialiasing and a higher resolution, in say.. widescreen. Now that in itself is worth waiting for i think.

i knwo but DAMN...i ordered it back in august. i wouldnt mind it if they would give a realease and stick to it. it annoys me when they push games back.

i know they are only making it better...but you cant tell me you arent more than ready to play this game.

Yeah im ready to play the finished product, but obviously the finished product isnt ready yet. What i dont like is how EB and Gamestop Market the games as if they had a definite release date just to sell preorders. Most game developers nowadays who make the best games, make them and release them when the game is READY, the bad games are usually the ones that they have a deadline, and throw a buncha decent stuff together b4 the deadline rolls around and the game gets a 6.2/10. Its just a thing that you gotta take if you want a great game. I know waiting can be hard. i mean especially since there are barely any games like FABLE, to play until it comes out. Oh well ill keep playing KOTOR over again and again until its ready. but i want to wait if its going to make the game get a 9.7 instead of an 8.2 in everyones reviewbook.

My money is on June of this year. (That's the predicted date floating around BBB's boards).

But, if it does get pushed back, I'll suck it in and wait like the rest of you guys. I want Fable in the worst way, but I want it to be the game I've imagined from the very first time I heard of it, and I'll begrudgingly await it's arrival, be it 2006 or this Xmas. As long as it lives up to Molyneaux's claim that it will be the "best RPG ever".

And like Nath said, while the game might not look as badass as some of the hotter titles on the X, it's shaping up to have some of the most mind-numbing AI and social interaction in a game ever. That alone is worth waiting for.

I saw this when I was browsing by the BBB forums today. It was crazy, people were freaking out, then the mods took all the topics down concerning these screen shots. From what I understand Fable-France mistakenly put up screens that were instead meant to be released at the GDC. I love these pictures, horns on your character? That's a new one. Wonder what that's all about?

Oh yeah, the game has never been pushed back considering it has never been given an official release date. Just like Halo 2 wasn't pushed back. People who sell pre-orders always guess at the release date and the always "guess" way to early so pre-orders will sell.


And it is just about finished, its just getting tweaked to perfection, so there is no way they would re-code it for an Xbox 2 release when it is like 98% done on the x86 platform.


I come to this site every day or two just hoping for word that it has gone gold. It is come in the few months and I can't freakin wait!!!!

No matter how great Fable is you'll be eating. People aren't going to not buy Halo 2 because of Fable. Its not like someone who thinks Halo 2 looks good isn't going to buy it because fable is really good, they are going to get both.

Yeah, what he said, and there aren't many casual gamers that even know what Fable is, but are stoked about Halo 2. Fable will be good if not very good, but will not touch Halo 2's sales.
