Xbox friend list problem

I have a problem using Xbox live.
On Top Spin Tennis I try to set up a match against someone from my friends list. The Xbox displays joining session then after about 5 seconds I get a message saying "session no longer available". We are using the following config/equipment.

Me
Netgear ADSL DG834G Gateway router, with latest firmware
ISP force9 (www.f9.co.uk)

my friends connection
Netgear ADSL DG824M Gateway router, with latest firmware
ISP force9 (www.f9.co.uk)

Do you have any ideas. If you require any other info please do not hesitate to ask.

I know on optimatch for CS sometimes the session will show up for awhile after the host has quit.

Hmmm probably the routers dont like each other.
I had an error almost like this.

I'm using a netgear WGT624 and friends who use a SMC Barricade Router cant join a server i host. No matter what game.

If those friends and I are on another server hosted by anyone we cant hear each other.

After switching back to WinXP's ICS(Internet Connection sharing) everything worked fine.
I know those Router-Problems are known to M$. Probably they gonna fix that issue with the next update.

So far its a damn bug.


The strange thing about ur case is that u are using almost the same routers of the same company. Cant imagine the netgears itself dont work with each other, but there is a slight chance.
