Pandora Tomorrow: Multiplayer Impressions

I dont know where to put this thread at. so, i'll post it here.


So, what do you think of the multiplayer?

I feel that 4 players is perfect for the game types. At first when i heard that there was only going to be 4 players, i was afriad that the game would be too easy. I'm not gonna say its too easy now bc i havent played it enough to know the maps, but i can say that every action is random. Theres tons of places to go as a spy and there are some sensors that triggers the alarms off for the mercenaries. There is one issue that I'm also afriad of, the game modes. There is only 1 game mode in 3 different categories where the spy has to go and activate some kind of bomb and the mercenaries have to kill the spies to defend them from activating the bomb.

I feel that the crosshairs on the mercenary should be improved (it has crosshairs movement same as Timesplitters 2) and as a spy, when in gun mode, the spy should be in FPS mode like the mercenary bc its a pain in the ass to try to line up shots sideways.

I'm digging the Motion and Electromagnetic sensors from the mercenary. i also like the movements of sam fisher. every move was so smooth and slick. lasty, the graphics are hands down, the best i've seen on any live games.

I'm just not even going to say anything about this game since so far I find it absolutely flawless and intense. I'm going to play for another hour, force myself to get off, go to work tomorrow and then play for the four days after that since I have off....this.game.ownz!!!!!

The overall game is the same as the orginal with the additon of live play. If you didn't like the first one then you probably won't like this one. It adds some new weapons,levels,new moves etc..

I personally love this game. Now i need to go "buy" it so i can play on live :eek:

...after owning everyone in Toronto (Stacey XBA, Casper XBA, and the rest of the wanna bes)... I can say that the Choke Kill on the Merc by Sam is definately awesome... the flip off the wall is great to use on the Merc while coming out of a cornered location... its all strategy and thinking man against man... and after they told me the controls in Toronto it really helped to...


....brightness and contrast though will kill this game on LIVE...

I found the original to be hard as hell at first, but then after not playing it for awhile, I went back to it and finished it being that it was too great of a game to pass up. I wasn't that big of a fan of it, but the XBL experience on this thing is insane - I swear, there isn't a xbl game so far that can come close to the intensity of this game.

Yea, I have TRIR on my list now - woulda thunk it :watchout:

This game is all about teamwork, planning, and tricking the ******* merc you see running around on the ground.

Its not about going into rooms expecting confrentations.

2 on 2 works great.

I don't know, my friend hated the first but is addicted to this one. The Live play just makes this so much better.

Spartan was still learning and mainly was jumpy as hell...I mean, I turned a corner and he shot at me thinking I was you guys he was that nervous - he was like a private the first day he was put on guard duty lol

I did find one thing for ya TRIR - I can now talk some trash to ya when I choke you up from behind - oh yeah, this is gonna be sweet.

I'm off the next four days, so it's on now :D

Like I said before, I can put all my differences aside and enjoy video games with people I disagree with!

i find that if you can send 1 person off (spy) to set off all the motion detectors which will alert the mercenaries and have them to come and check them out. while the 2 mercenaries are looking for that spy, the other spy can arm the bomb at another place, far away from the mercenaries.

i love it when i set off a bomb and 2 merc came running into the room i was in. i just disappeared out of site into the ceiling above them. then one became alone in the room and i jumped down on him and got him in headlock and said "whos my ***** now?" then break his neck.

im not sure, but theres a kit called the spy trap for the merc. the spy trap intercepts the communication of the spy when its near the trap.

as a spy, when you get a merc in headlock, you can talk to the merc if thats what you mean.

No JJax thats not true.

Like No Fear said as a merc you get a device called a spy trap. You place these on the wall, and they have an inferred beam. When a spy breaks that beam it locks him on your rader, you can also pick up their communication by pressing and holding the white button. That device came in very handy lastnight against Casper and Spartan.

The spys have a "spy bullert" which can be shot from the gun and stuck to a merc. This marks the merc on the spies radar and also allows interception of communication by holding down the white button.

The camp factor is ZERO. It's impossible to camp there are atleast 5-6 different locations on the map that have to be protected and a billion different ways to enter. Camping is pointless in this game.

lol, i just got off jafo's server. my team won 4 straight. that one map was close. i was a spy and i managed to nuetralized the last NID133 before the round was over just by 1 second. i also caught jafo's teamate going through on a rope and i killed him just before he went into the ducts. boy, did his body fell :D

im liking this game. i sense new maps coming out in a couple months.

I picked up Pandora Tomorrow today and love it. I haven't had alot of time with it yet, but I did play a little multiplayer and although I was kinda clueless to what I was doing for awhile it was still fun and I like it alot.

I also got a 12-Month Free card out of the box which pwns!

I cant find anyplace in MP to do a split jump, even if the walls are close enough, it wont let me....

And one liners when you grab a merc is worth the price of the game alone :)

I've found my new favorite gadget, the alarm snare is a thing of beauty.

The only problem I see with the 2 vs 2 is its hard to join a friends game, normally because they're always full. I tried for a long time to get into Caspers game, to no avail.

No, no whats more frustrating is playing with someone who doesn't communicate. Communication is essential to this game. I hate playing with people as spies who are all gung ho and just go rushing in with no plan or communication.

I played this idiot the other, he wasn't even trying to disable the terminals he simply was trying to kill us (mercs) which was stupid because we just owned him everytime.

lol, i have to work tonite, which is why i quit. lucky bastage. i shall continue my ownage tonite at 10:10pm


by the way, i dont get this one thing about rankings. sometimes when my team wins, i lose points and sometimes when i lost, i lose like 12 points. that happen 3 times in a row, 2 being that my team won. i keep going from level 3 to 2 and vice versa. anybody know how this **** works?

I have a group of friends as well. However, we don't have practices, we don't schedule clan matches, we don't have a voting system, we don't kick out members, we don't play for statistic, we play the games for the fun of it.

Just a group of mature people who get together when we can to play on Live without the lunacy of public rooms and idiots that troll on Live.

Nothing wrong with clans, if that's your cup of tea. It's not mine, I know for the most part you where joking about the stats. But still no need to say I'm not good simply because I don't dedicate that much time to it.

Now if you want me to own you in SC:PT we can arange that anytime. I'll bring one of my "non" clan friends and you can have Casper. Date/time, and its on.

The only problem I see with the 2 vs 2 is its hard to join a friends game, normally because they're always full. I tried for a long time to get into Caspers game, to no avail.

You should make a server and where it has the friends slots put them at 3 so only your friends can join, btw I sent some friend requests to some of you

on that one level, i was up in the ceiling for 5 minutes to try to take chaotic out. lol, i was hopping left to right waiting for the perfect timing to jump on him, but i keep missing him due to other railings that were around me as i was trying to jumped on him. i ended up getting lit up by chaotic as i just miss landing on his head

Dawg, i am freakin' over the Multiplayer, this is the most fun i have had since the Metal Arms and Halo multiplayers.

the multiplayer is ingenious..props to ubi for going out and designing a whole new HUD, new control system, etc. just for the mercs in multiplayer, and working so hard to keep it balanced!

the whole point of the game is to give the user a sense of power. when a spy is able to just sit there and have mercs go running around crazily looking for him...that's power. i had one game where i just ****ed with the mercs and my partner did all the work...the level was my playground as i played tricks on the stoopid n00bs :D

the mercs too get the feeling of power when they smack a spy in the face with the butt of their rifle, or spot one who with crazy high tech goggle thingies.

so yep i likes it.

Nope Xbock they absolutely can't see the green illumination from the spies equipment. It's very very well done!

What the spy can see and his interface is not at all comparable to what a merc sees though they are looking at the samething... anywhere on the map both worlds are the same but yet completely different using equipment and just there visual perceptions..

The game is great and gets really fun when you have a good team you can work with. Each team is balanced and has an advantage and disadvantage. Awesome maps, great weapons!

I can confirm that u have to hold down the white button.
A single Tab on the button wont do!!!!

I think that Ubisoft has done a great freakin job with this game's online multiplayer. I only played a few game online last night, but this I think is the first time i've played an online games without even a second of lag.

In my opinion 4 Players suits perfect.

Remember SPlinter Cell isnt a conventional Shooter like RS3 or CS.
New Type of Gameplay.

Well, the Electromagnetic (the blue view) is WONDERFUL when they are hiding or moving up on ceiling tiles. With this view on, you can see them through the tiles...really disorienting to be lit up from the floor as a spy...

As for the motion tracker view (the red one) I use it whenever a sensor is tripped. I go to the general area of the alarm and turn it on. Usually after a spy trips the alarm he tries to high tail it out of the area to hise until it subsides.


Now for my question. Anyone else fire a spy cam when running spy, get killed and then be stuck in the spy cam view? This happened again last night...whole lotta suckin...

I dont think range is a factor when intercepting communications. I hold the white button and it works fine as long as the spy bullet is still active.

Yeah, when you respawn, shoot a spy cam, than press B to exit to fix it.
