Before I start spending hundreds of $$$ on equiptment, I wanted to ask your guys' advice... Which would cause less problems (eg: less lag, better connection, etc..), a connection from the wall, (wall to modem to xbox) or is it worth it to get wireless. seems to me like wireless would lag more, and be more expensive. Or is there an even better one, share...

I prefer wired, but i would only probley shave off MAYBE .75ms, but the thought that it is better makes me happy.

I don't know how wireless effects ping times, well lets think about this. I think a cat 5 cable is fiber optic ie uses light. so it comes down to

100,000Miles per second for cable/light

100,000 Miles per hour with radio waves.

And at most its only going 1500 feet.(to your internet hook up, not the person.

Take your pick, no big diff tho. But wireless is subject to other stuff messing with it, but really should be of no concern.

I picked wired because I like knowing its as good as it gets but it could probley be fine either way. O yea, never used wireless so idk. But in theory that was I think.

If you have lots of money to waste then wireless would be what i'd do. But i'm pretty satisfied with my direct connection.

I would only do wire if its easy, otherwise do wireless.

I read a Review about wireless gaming and it said it works without lags. Or lets say almost without: the lag has been in some cases about 2ms. I think thats nothing.

I'm using an WLan Router @ home but its not connected wireless with my box. Connected my Box via wire with the Router.

The Wireless Router is too expensive!!!!!!!!!!!
And in Germany its not even available. :watchout:

Direct Connection might get u more speed. I don't think there is a serious big diff in the speed though. But a wireless connection is just plain more convenient for most people. So you don't have to run a wire from say where the PC is to your xbox is in a diff room. That's just 1 scenario. I use a direct connection, i have a wireless router but i just plug in the CAT cable, though since my xbox is right next to my PC... XBC ;) ... but soon it'll be moved to a diff room and i'll be needing a wireless connection.

I set up my wireless just last week and I have no problems what-so-ever. I would suggest getting the 802.11g Router and not the 802.11b, the 'g' has a max of 54 Mbps while the 'b' has 11 Mbps.
