Xbox Live Auto update
We are very pleased to announce that an autoupdate is now available online to fix the optimatch issue.
The game will automatically update itself the next time you connect to XBOX Live.
The updated game will no longer freeze when displaying optimatch or quickmatch results.
We apologize for this inconvenience.
Please be aware that this autoupdate was developed and made available in an extraordinary short delay so that this issue could be fixed as soon as possible, because it forced players to reboot. The drawback is that we couldn't address any other problems raised in various XBOX forums.
But please be patient! We have already started working on another autoupdate that will fix all known issues and improve some features. More information on this will be announced soon.
We are very eager to offer the community of players the best online stealth game experience available. Please keep feeding back in the forums and trust us to make this reality!

Ranking System Information
There have been a lot of questions and misunderstanding regarding the ranking system. Here is some detailed information about it:
1/ The ranking system is based on ELO, which is well known and reliable. It is used in RainbowSix3.
2/ IMPORTANT : a player starting a ranking game and leaving in the middle of it gets a PENALTY. This penalty is taken into account the next time statistics are updated, that is at the end of the next ranking game. The points awarded are reduced by the penalty. Leaving a game session in a middle of a game is thus not at all advised.
3/ Players being level 1 or 2 don't lose points when losing a game, EXCEPT if they have a penalty.
4/ The ranking system uses 6 leaderboards : one for each game mode (neutralisation, extraction, sabotage) and for each team (spy or merc).
The total number of points in the overall ranking (which determine the level of the player displayed in the lobby), is the sum of all points in each leaderboard.
Players progress in each of these leaderboards independently depending on which kind of games they play. The number of points gained or lost at the end of a game depends on the number of points of each player in the appropriate leaderboard.
For example : two spies have 200 points in total, but one of them has 160 points in neutralisation mode, and 40 points in extraction mode, whereas the other one has 40 points in neutralisation and 160 points in extraction. They won't gain or lose the same number of points because, even though their total number of points are similar, the number of points in each mode is different.
The current information displayed refers to the total number of points, the number of points gained, and the new total number of points. This is not clear enough and may be confusing. We'll be improving this in the next autoupdate.
