As many of you know, the Bungie.net team has been slaving away behind the scenes for the past 9 months creating a brand spankin new website. It's been a long and difficult road, but at last we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Since you've been so patient with us, and the release is very near, I wanted to share a glimpse into the future of Bungie.net with you, our loyal fans.
But first, a little background is needed. The Bungie.net you know and love today has passed its prime. While the site continues to function, for the most part, it clearly doesn't have the gusto to keep up with what's to come with Halo 2. Our goal was simple - rebuild a new site, from the ground up, using bleeding edge technology to create the ultimate Bungie portal that can scale and support millions of users. Today, we've almost reached that goal.
By utilizing the internal resources and expertise of partners like MSN and the solid foundation of the .NET framework, we've been able to build a site that will allow us to deliver kick *** content to our community and unprecedented insight into Bungie Studios and our games. What you are about to see is simply version 1.0, the building blocks for even better things to come later this year. Also, it's not quite done, and you may find it's a tad rough around the edges, but keep in mind this is only 9 months worth of work.
Without further ado.. Here is the first glimpse of our new site!
