OMFG, this is it! The great Halo vs. Half Life brawl over at Gamespy's Title Fight Championship. Halo has meleed its way through brawl after brawl with some of the gaming world's finest. Now, its up against Half Life. It's only been an hour and the numbers are flying! This is THE biggest brawl we will have seen so far.

I call upon all you Halo fans to head over there and show your support!

GO THERE NOW AND KICK SOME A$$! (http://www.xboxaddict.com)

As of this vote:

Halo: 16596

OMFG, look at the numbers!

Halo: 18362
Half Life: 5373

This was our combat tactic for the whole championship. We were going to just sneak by and not unveil to the enemy our true strength. Now, only at the end, the legions of Halo fans have mobilized and taken the championship by storm. Kinda like what the Empire does Star Wars: Return of The Jedi.

We are unstoppable. MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Edit: Notice it says in the Zelda vs. Diablo match "Polls are closed. Results are not official pending investigation"

lol. There is not way that Halo already has nearly 20,000 votes legitly. lol. What a scam.

Edit # 2: Haha~ the link is down. Looks like Gampespy stopped the poll cause of teh scamming action! lol.

Edit # 3: Wait, its back up again. :watchout:

Surprising. I thought Half-Life would be in the lead for sure. Anyways, I voted for Half-Life. It was a tough decision, but I think Half-Life is the better game of the two.

Okay, well,it looks like Gamepsy has confirmed that there was some cheating goin on and they have resarted the match with new rules, rules that will put Halo in its grave. :(

NEW RULES: You MUST now log in with GameSpy ID to register a vote in the Title Fight matches. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it’s the only way to ensure fair voting among all the candidates. Thank you!

Most people won't be bothered to sign up if they don't have an account. That means that only those with accounts will vote and we all know that the majority of the Gamespy community is nothing but a bunh of Halo haToRZ.

So it was good while it lasted. All you Halo fans, your votes over teh last couple of weeks have been all in vain. Nothing can stop the Gamespy Halo haToRZ now.

Head on over and vote again (http://www.xboxaddict.com) but it'll probably do no good anymore.

As of this post...

Halo: 343
Half Life: 545

Half Life was great but I still think Halo was done better. I ask myself several key questions. What did I play longer, what left me with a better impression? Which did I play more MP of, and which implemented it's unique feature's best? Half-life got it's replay value from it's modifications, halo got it's replay from being a damn fun game. Tough decision though.

I hate to say it, but Halo is not going to make it past this round...but hopefully I'll beat feasting on my words, and Halo will pull off an upset. The majority of gamespys members are hardcore "purist" gamers, the ones that stick to Doom and claim new stuff is for n00bs, and the classics are better.

I Put my vote in but as of 8:45pm
Halo: 601
HL: 891

Yeah, the Gamespy Halo-haToRZ are unstoppable.

Casual Halo fans aint gonna make an account just to vote in some damn poll. And most of the gamers at Gamespy forums are PS2 and PC followers. So, Halo is as good as dead. It won't have the support that it should.

I hate this new rule. :cuss:

And the fact that the poll has been restarted hasn't been posted at HBO yet. It would help if they posted it.

As of this post (9:02pm EST)

Halo: 752
Half Life: 1117

All our efforts over the last couple of weeks will be in vein.

No way this is true.I go to that site, they worship Half Life. Well a lot of websites are doing what Halodevil did, links. I want Halo to win but dought this is true.

I still voted for Half-Life this time around. It's like a 51/49 kind of thing, and Half-Life just barely beats it in my books. See, if Halo were released in 1995, there would be no way Half-Life would win, but it does, because of just how damn good it was when it came out.

Unauthorized Title Fight Shenanigans Under Investigation
GameSpy’s Title Fight Commission consists of an expert panel of engineers, statisticians, and guys who are really good at Super Street Fighter II Turbo. In an emergency meeting convened this morning it was unanimously agreed that unauthorized voting manipulation had been practiced in two suspect round 4 matches. Both the Diablo II-Zelda64 and Halo-Half-Life matchups will be re-run under a more secure system. The Title Fight Commissioner himself (pictured, left) has issued the following statement:

“I cannot overexpressify my monumental aggrification at these egregious outrageifications perpetuated upon this honorable endeavoration. I am outrighteously incensified, gratuitously stumpfounded that the good people of the gaming public should suffer from the script-kiddification of this holiest of polls. Demarkify my words, good people: we will not respite despite the spiteful underhandnastiness put forward by those who scandalfy the will of the masses. You cannot bloat the vote and gloat without getting smote! That is all she wrote. Thank you.”

NEW RULES: You MUST now log in with GameSpy ID to register a vote in the Title Fight matches. We apologize for the inconvenience, but it’s the only way to ensure fair voting among all the candidates. Thank you!

This is because of all the bull**** links.

This isn't because of people linking to the title fight, I'm afraid. It's because they looked at the voting logs and probably saw people from the same ip voting hundreds, or thousands of times.

Then what is the point of what they did?

Don't ask me, ask them. I have no idea. They probably did it to deter most of the people voting multiple times, because a lot of people don't want to sign up. The people who don't want to sign up are usually the people who would vote extra times.

Christ, why am I getting blamed for this. Think before you talk. This is NOT because of people like me posting links. And it in NOT because of people form the same IP voting multiple times. It is because people were caugh using botters (automatic programs that use proxy server connections and randomize the IP. Then they vote every second or so). Halo was at 25,000 votes before they stopped it. Do you honestly believe that posting links is responsible for over 25,000 votes in 2 hours time?? Come on, be realistic and think before you point fingers and make sure you KNOW the FACTS of what happened. I don't appreciate it. I posted links for all the other votes and it didn't do this. People also rigged the previous match between Zelda and Diablo and neither one of them had many links posted around the web. My point is, this wasn't becuse of me. It is because some people tried to scam the system using bot programs and in the end, it only did them worse becuase now the general public can't vote unless they sign up at gamespy.

I'm telling you, if the voting allowed for the general public to vote without signing up, Halo would get mre support. Gamespy effectivly gave this match to Half Life cause they know that the majority of the Gamespy community are PS2 and PC fans.

Anyway, looks like Halo is a gonner. It was good while it lasted but in the end, the Halo fans will fail. I'm telling you people now, in 5 years you'll look back at Halo and realize that it was indeed better than Half Life. This whole thing about HL is ecause it has been historically elevated to a position of greatness (and it was great) but people have lost vision and just follow the croud. Load up HL again and ask yoursel "Is this game really as CRAZY AWESOME as it is made out to be?" End of story. Goodnight.

Maybe it wasn't from people of the same IP voting multiple times, but it was damn close to what I thought. My idea was that people were using macros to place votes. I never said that in my post, but I did think that, and I was close to being right. The only thing that was left out of my idea was the changing of proxies.

I play Half-Life or one of it's mods every day, and my vote stays the same, at Half-Life. It's an amazing game, and always will be for its time. Don't say that I just like Half-Life for it's mods either, because that is not a valid point. Mods are part of the game. If it weren't for Half-Life, the mods wouldn't be there, so I can't just take my vote away because the mod isn't listed there.

I don't go along with what the general consensus says either. **** the general consensus. I do my own thing, and follow my own path. That's the reason I don't think Halo is the end-all be-all like everyone says.

I dunno, but the only reason I have an account there is because of fileplanet. I only use fileplanet when I can't find another good mirror for the file too, which is rare.
