The First Halo is going to look bad...

While I think it's a crazy thought, all of the improvements they are making in Halo 2 are going to put the first Halo to shame.

There are several examples that have been announced, however, one that I would like to mention...feel free to mention others.

The one I would like to mention is the character movement. I mean, the Master Chief looks like he's running at full speed even if he is walking or moving slowly. Also, when he straifs, his legs move forward even when he's moving sideways. Also, when he throws grenades while moving, he glides with both feet planted on the floor/ground.

Obviously, none of the above deters me from wanting to jump on and play some Halo, but, Halo 2 is going to make the first Halo completely sub-par.

What are your thoughts?

I agree. I've had that happen when I was playing halo for the first time and then I swiched back to Perfect dark or something like it and I was like "Holy crap, this is giving me a fricken headache!"
I for one will still play halo but not as often. But there's still room in my heart for this benchmark game. I'll never miss those nights with my friends on system connect! :D

I still play the first Halo religiously...but, after reading all of these updates, the types of improvements they're making really are going to make Halo seem very old and outdated... The thought is almost funny since Halo is my favorite game of all time :D

Yea I agree with the above statements. We'd always end up joking about the MC animation while watching the chase cameras. I also felt that some of the hitboxes were off (like 10% of the time you shot an elite in the head w/ a sniper rifle, it wouldn't count as a head shot). This game will put the first Halo to shame, and the delays are clearly indicative of the fact that they want everything to be perfect.

Does anyone know if they're going to add a chaingun and the flamethrower to the arsenal? Flying vehicles in multiplayer are confirmed, right?

...the graphics looked significantly enhanced... it will as any other sequel usually does put it to shame... the grain and texture though are what is key.. the images are there its the lines and fine tuning those little pixel *******s...

lol, dude...Halo 2 is slated for this Fall...that's according to Bungie.net...all other release dates not from Bungie are simply speculation and not accurate.

yes halo 2 will be alot better than halo but i play halo from time to time after i beat halo 2 about a millon times and it will always have a place in my cabnit(never to touched again) :cry:

I have to say that I definately agree with you max. There are so many things that Halo is going to do that are going to have us screeching like school girls when we put it in our xbox's. Seriously, it is still my belief that Halo 2 will rock the world beyond what is dreamed. I still might play Halo every once in a while, but seriously, once all of my friends get Halo 2, thats what we will play at LANs. After PD came out, I pretty much put Goldeneye away forever, and once I got Halo, PD pretty much went away too. Noting the oddities Max stated above, how about when you look at the ground you are still actually looking straight ahead (RvB style), as well as if melee and strafe and move quickly, you slide about the world, and who can forget the sensational warthog flips.

i really hope they don't mess with the warthog physics. I mean i speant countless ours w/ my brother(who sucks @halo) just doing chicken w/the warthogs, trying to see who could do a sicker flip and land it.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Warthogs physics...I think Bungie will intentionally make that thing fly out of no where like before...but, the things we do know that they are improving are entering and exiting the Warthog and they made the actual driving a little less drifty :)

Though Halo 2 will be the shiz when it's released, I think Halo will still be a game where other games from different platforms will be compared to. It brought so many gamers together with it's use of LAN, and the whole story of Halo alone puts many games out in the market right now to shame. Thats pretty awesome for a game that's been out for 3 years. So, yeah, I will probably play H2 until my eyes bleed and my fingers hurt from arthritis, but I'll still play Halo LAN, and I will probably end up playing through it again on Legendary a couple of times after I've played H2 just to see how much Bungie has worked on it since the release of Halo

hey I remember when I found you on xbc and I think your friend was playing. But everyone was nailing people in the head with a shotgun and I did it like twice and now I forget how to do it. Anyone else know how?
