Could we be fighting alongside other spartans in Halo 2?

Think about it. In the book Halo: FS, their are 4 other spartans who survived Reach and go with the MC. Linda, Kelly(who gets kidnapped by the doc), Fred, and will. Now I do not kno if this is true, but don't all the books have to be verified by Microsoft and Bungie so the books can fall in with the games? On top of that, in the FoR, they mention that 3 other spartans cannot be recalled to reach for the bigt mission because they were to far out of system.

I would like to see Bungie put this in Halo 2 as well as explain what happened to the other spartans.

True, but maybe it could be made into a surprise apperance at the end of Halo 2 when Master Cheif is down on his luck or something. ;)

Actually I think it's very likely that we will be fighting with other Spartans. There was an interview with Eric Nylund, the writer of the first and third books, a few months ago on Xbox.com in which he said that Bungie gives him the main story line in the books and he elaborates and fills the gaps.

well in the book fall of reach i dont remember them saying there was a specific number of spartans that couldent be takin out of duty but if they make the difficulty harder(which it will be because better ai=smarter and better enimies) they should make the co-op capasity more.

While I agree that unrealistic depictions of women are stupid and silly, I think you're being silly. First of all, a femal spartan would still be extremely strong. I agree, including female spartans in the over all story seems more like a move aimed at PC-ness, but who cares? It's also a story about aliens, AIs, faster-than-light-travel, and plasma weapons. All of these things are concepts that are pretty much fantasy to us. The most plausible is plasma weapons, but we are far from making such weaponry.

No Cortana is just a computer program, Master Chief has to carry her ass around and kill things. She might be a main character but she is no hero on the lines of Master Chief
Personally I don't like Metroid, and everyone knows that if the main character in that was a guy he would have defeated the bugs twice as fast and with much better catch phrases.
This goes for movies as well.
