King Kong

An article in Friday's New York Times on the role of film directors in the creation of video games makes interesting mention of Peter Jackson's involvement with an upcoming King Kong game. The title is reportedly under development by Ubisoft and intended to tie in with Jackson's upcoming film.

The Times article reports that Jackson will not only have a direct financial stake in the game, but will be given "substantial creative control" during its development.

We contacted Ubisoft to see if there is any official word on the title, but so far we have not been able to get confirmation one way or another. However, we'll keep you updated just as soon as we get more information. Stay tuned.

ESPN NFL 2005

ESPN Videogames today officially announced ESPN NFL 2005, the latest offering in realistic football action from SEGA developer Visual Concepts. The game is slated for a Fall 2004 release on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

"More than ever before, we're really looking forward to delivering the most satisfying football experience ever in ESPN NFL 2005," states Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, maker of ESPN Videogames. "Fusing the thrill of a real football game atmosphere with revolutionary gameplay features and enhanced graphics, ESPN NFL 2005 truly is a hybrid from other mainstream football games."

Very few details were offered in the announcement, but we do have an in-depth interview with Visual Concepts where some tasty NFL 2005 details are revealed. If you haven't seen it yet, get over there.
