Man, I really wish they had tournaments with just frags for 4v4. I'm confident my 4 man team is the best in the nation...but we suck real bad at capture the flag. I would love to get money for playing video games :)

We got our butts handed to us when there was a tournament here in town, because they started off with CTF...we survived long enough to advance to the slayer matches....which noone even came close to beating us. I think the closest was 50 to 11. We only got 3rd out of 30 because our record was blemished by the CTF losses we got at the beginning of the tournament, otherwise we would have been undefeated.

I wish me and my buddy could go we hold halo parties all the time and have people from all over town show up and we usually shine above the crowed in all modes, wish i could try my skills against some new people.

I wanna join a Halo tournament badly single or team it dont matter but they never have any in Canada(Montreal)but most tournaments are held in the states so if there was any tournys in montreal and i didnt know about it then there's a problem.

Another team can't beat a better slayer team just with tactics, especially if they are 50 to 11 bad.

If you slayed them just as good in CTF as you did in the slayer matches they opposing team would have 390 seconds of extra respawn time, that's more than enough time to grab the flag.

Go to 50k3, AGP, or MLG before you can say your good or you the best in the nation. I've seem many teams that "can beat everyone in our area" get completely owned by expert teams.

Yeah I am in Houston too, and although the tv kept switching on and off the whole time, we never lost a connection on thursday...or anyday this week for that matter...maybe next week though.

Recent Update...

ok, some ppl have been getting mixed up on this tournament thinking it's only a double elimination tournament. however, if you look in the rules it states that "there will be a 30 minute time limit on any pool play games..." meaning that there is pool play prior to the double elimination portion of this event.
also, please be sure to read over the rules as the cheats and or glitches rule has been updated.
we have also added six new 32" televisions to the game room to get ready for this event. they look great and we will b adding more prior to the tournament.

This is well, simply put, not true. CTF is a much more difficult game strategically than TS. I play witha 'very good' player every friday night. If we play team slayer, whatever team he is on wins, because he gets about 38+ of the 50 kills owning everyone. CTF is a different story. It takes an entire team effort in order to win. Me and my bros have absolutely owned teams (NOT as the server) on CTF, but then summarily got owned in slayer.

When it comes down to it. You are only good when you can win (or compete closely) at everything.

well, say ur friend is the best slayer on ur team while playing TS, if he's still the best slayer and the gametype switches to ctf shouldn't the team he's on still win? i mean, if he's still getting as many kills per death as he wuz in TS and he's in the middle of the action, wouldn't that ultimately give his team a huge advantage and therefore give the opposing team more spawn time allowing his team mates to grab and return the flag easier? seems logical to me....

then again,.....i started w/ "if"

Not exactly, in team slayer the purpose is simply: find other team, kill on site. Possibly coordinate with other team members to kill faster,but ultimatly find and destroy. CTF is a tad more complex in that you may try and avoid and/or tie up the opposing teams best player in order to steal the flag. Yes, your right, he gets about 100 or so kills in a given match of CTF, but does his team always win, no. He could in theory camp our spawns but we aren't totally inert players that we cant stop that, and theres no saying we can't kill him, its just hes quite efficient (kind of like Max) at killing in Halo so his kills pretty much overshadows his team.

ok, he could be rite....
i played a 5 flag ctf games online against the host. it wuz 5v5. i had over 130 kills, almost twice as much as anyone else in the game and my team still lost. :-(
that hella-sucks!
