About 8 months ago the EB lady told me they are only making 11 million copies on the first shipment... 5 million of which had already been pre-ordered..I have a feeling she had been saying that for a few months there and was lying but if not I seriously better preorder me a copy hella soon.

I preordered this over a year ago...I still have my warped receipt...I was the first on the list at the store I preordered it from...my buddy was second. You'll see a lot of him on XBL...his gamertag is Jedi...beware!! :D

Not a bad plan. I remember my friend was working at Circuit City when GTA: Vice City hit. They had plenty of copies on hand, I don't know why people only assume they can buy games at game stores. There is a bonus. Some gamestores will send employees out to distribution centers and what not, just so the game will be in a day or two early. When you've been waiting for 30 months for a game, it's funny how much those one or two days can mean to you.
