KOEI announced today that it will bring the tactical action title Samurai Warriors to the Xbox. The title is set to appear in North America this summer. The game will take place during 16th century Japan, during a time of strife between individual warlords fighting for supremacy. Samurai Warriors will explore this era through KOEI's brand of tactical action.

Gamers will play through a variety of characters, including the heroic Yukimura Sanada, the powerful Nobunga Oda and Hanzo Hattori, the ninja. Expect to slash your way through 90 stages of battle, during which you'll face gun-wielding troops, ninjas and other baddies.

Samurai Warriors will feature the "Active Mission System" which triggers specials mission mid-battle. Another feature, the "Auto Formation System," randomly generates castle levels every time you fire up the game. The skills system will let you build your character RPG-style as your play through the game.

Look for Samurai Warriors to ship sometime this summer.

Unless they take advance of the Xbox, I will not pick up this game. If I wanted a PS2 game, I would buy it for my PS2.
