I purchased an RCA TV about a year ago that is Xbox Ready. Basically the TV has the exact same rectangular port that is on the Xbox. The problem I am having is that I can not find a cable that will connect my Xbox to my TV using this port. Does anyone else have this sort of TV and where did you find the cable?

That should be what you want - not sure what you're saying with the rectangular port, but what's the model, because I think I have the same TV.

Is this the TV? http://gear.ign.com/articles/436/436665p1.html

I have one of those TV's in your picture also.

But that TV should work with any cable, S-Video, HDTV or whatever.

I've got 3 36in models of the RCA XBox ready TV. The first one I bought I was able to get the "V Port" cable at Best Buy when I got the TV. The second and third I ended up using the MS HDTV pack and some Monster component cables due to the fact that noone had the V Port cables any more. The last place I saw a V Port cable was bestbuy.com but that was a while ago. Good Luck !!!

Thank you all for the help. At least I know the cable does exist and now I know what it is called. I have my Xbox hocked up through the regular video ports right now but wanted to get the actual cable for it. For those of you who have the cable did you notice a difference or will I be waisting my time hunting one down?

It's the same as component video cables, quality wise according to the review.
I have the 36in model of that TV. I love that TV, but when I heard it was the same, then I decided not to get the Vport cable, and just stick with my component video set up. The plus side to that is that you have to use the Microsoft Hi-def AV pack for that, and the pack has optical cable ports for your surround sound. Just go to Radio Shack and buy some Tos Link Optical cables, and you're good to go. (Assuming you have a surround sound reciever with optical inputs.)

So...does this Vport thing actually increase the resolution??? I know I'm old school still using the S-Video connection (I know audio not really video). Is this what the HDTV connection looks like?

You should notice some improvement from S-Video to V-Port, But like Reclaimer said, it should be similar to component HDTV input. So you could buy that if you can't find the V-port. As I said I have used both on my "Xbox ready" RCA TV.
Be aware though, if you play RTCW the V-port cable makes the picture too dark to play.

BTW Shawn, I just posted that link. :bang:
