I got this from the xbox magazine that was posted. That is a pretty tough question. For me I would but it would eventually get boring. I mean some of the levels were HUGE and it would have taken a long time to beat without the warthog. It would have been fun walking around the level and exploring it for a couple of hours but the vehicles play probally the most important role in the game. To me without the vehicles it would have been like playing something just a little bit better than rainbow six 3 cause you can still jump off of cliffs (just not with the warthog). I spent a lot of time killing aliens with vehicles and jumping off of cliffs. I seriously spent up to an hour at a time messing around and jumping off of cliffs with the warthog. The best part was when I was first playing halo and my friend made a stop on the level halo, we walked out, he went back in and drived off, then I had to walk all the way backup the hill and then I realized how big the level really was and I also realized I would never find him untill the ***** drove back. It seemed like an eternity going up the hill because I have never played a game with such a huge ass level. Now it doesn't seem like that much time at all considering I have played it so much.
without the vehicles and the huge levels it would have just been another shooter, better than average.
With the vehicles it put Halo in a completly diffrent perspective even when you are playing on multiplayer on a level that doesn't have vehices. It also will allow a lot more things in halo 2. Say if your team doesn't have enough vehicles to support everyone on the team a group of people get in vehicles to go get the flag or drive it somewhere and use the gun as a turrent while a couple other people and you are left without a vehicle. You could look out for enemies with your sniper while you are going from rock to rock. You don't even know wtf you are going to do. You could try to get to the enemy base doing your tatic or you could find a nice camping spot (why not the level is big not everyone should use the same stratgy).
I izzle to hyped about this game

not on halo 2, and the main reason I get killed on xbc is because of bullet lag but you have to use vehicles to get the flag, I have used them to get to sniper spots and used them as turrets when someone gets the flag.

well the warthog is the only vehicle that is a multiplayer vehicle(the rest are for newbs)
but the single player is where all of the vehicles kick anus

Without vehicles.. It couldnt happen.. Running on foot for 10 minutes on that last level.. I think not.
Any way even if not.. Vehicles are a big part. Multiplayer and campaign couldnt possibly be as fun without vehicles. You play through campaign without a vehicle and see how much fun it is..Well of course you need the vehics at points to get past obstacles though.

All vehicles are for noobs guys. I haven't played with them for awhile, smaller levels are a lot more competitive and fun

Right. It's because I suck at Halo that I like big levels and vehicles. It definately doesn't have anything to do with personal preferences, or the fact that 99% of all other FPS games only offer small areas without vehicles. No, it's because I suck at the game.

the ghosts have the stun effect that slows you down while damaging you while your getting shot and it is really fast and things like that

I mainly play with the Warthog only...I never use the Ghost Ships or Tanks in CTF at BG...just Warthogs. I guess having all vehicles is fun once in a while if you're doing a 16 man Team Slayer at Sidewinder and 100 total team kills win the game...but, definately not for CTF.
CTF is so much better with Warthogs only. But, I must say that I love the smaller multi-player maps, too, that don't have vehicles.
That's the beauty of Halo...it offers such a wide range of gameplay...the only thing lacking in the first Halo is more huge levels that offer vehicles, IMO. TS with all vehicles is a blast...but, definately not good for CTF. (Did I mention that before?) :D

I would play the game reguardless. I love FPS shooters and Halo is still one of the best even if you take away the vehicles.

Without the Warthog and what-have you Halo wouldn't really be so unique to me. A little bit of flying & driving seems to balance things out.

i doubt i'd ever have played halo if it didnt' have the vehicles. vehicles made the game for me. Nothing like playing coop with your buddy on legendary flying around in a warthog kicking some ass.

Agreed, the co-op sets this game apart.
