Activision today outlined its Xbox showings for the 2004 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. Activision will debut a show-stopping slate of games including id Software's gripping 3D action game DOOM III and some high-profile Hollywood licenses such as Spider-Man 2.
Spider-Man 2 - In Spider-Man 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to Activision's 2002 monster hit game, Manhattan becomes a gamer's playground as you take the role of Spider-Man in a battle against the nefarious Doc Ock. Based on the plot of the movie Spider-Man 2 and the heroes and villains created by Marvel, the games allows players to encounter unique and dangerous villains as they patrol the streets and rooftops of the biggest city created in any Super Hero game to date. (Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, PC)
DreamWorks’ Shark Tale - Players experience the fun and adventure of the DreamWorks movie by assuming the role of Oscar, a fast-talking little fish working his way up the food chain, who becomes an unlikely hero as he searches for an easy path to fame and fortune. Players undertake more than 25 adventure-packed missions set in their favorite film locations and new environments exclusive to the game. With a blend of original and film-inspired gameplay, players immerse themselves in a hip, underwater urban culture featuring the gritty environments of Reef City and funky tunes inspired by the film. (Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, PC)
Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events - Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events is based on the book series and DreamWorks Picture starring Jim Carrey, Jude Law and Meryl Streep. It is the only game that lets players experience first-hand the misadventures of the savvy and resilient Baudelaire orphans as they narrowly escape from the clutches of the villainous Count Olaf who is after their inheritance. In the game, players switch between the three orphans, mastering each one’s unique skills to solve puzzles and collect various items to build ingenious inventions. (Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, PC)
X-Men Legends - In this real-time RPG, players get the chance to assemble, train and lead their own X-Men fighting force in a battle against some of the deadliest foes in the Marvel Universe including the Morlocks, the Brotherhood of Mutants and robotic Sentinels. To be successful, players will have to draw on the powers of a diverse pool of X-Men and use teamwork to unleash the full power of their squad. X-Men: Legends begins with the rescue of a young mutant and takes players through an engrossing plot that could unite mutant-kind, yet destroy the human race in the process. (Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube)
DOOM 3 - A massive demonic invasion has overwhelmed the Union Aerospace Corporations' (UAC) Mars Research Facility leaving only chaos and horror in its wake. As one of only a few survivors, you struggle with shock and fear as you fight your way to Hell and back, in an epic clash against pure evil. Built on id's revolutionary new 3D graphics engine, DOOM 3 draws you into the most frightening and gripping 3D gaming experience ever created. (Xbox)
