Fable Date Narrowed (Xbox)
Official FAQ for Lionhead Studios' promising Xbox RPG coming in September 2004.
By James Fudge | June 4, 2004

With all the bad news surrounding Fable's scaled back feature set (multiplayer canned, less open-ended gameplay) fans of this role-playing game once called Project Ego need some positive news; That news comes in the form of a June 2nd update to the game's official FAQ which reveals a more specific date for the game in Europe and North America. According to the post, Fable will be released in NTSC territories (U.S.) in September and in PAL (EUROPE) territories in October. The date is a little more refined than the previous date of sometime in late 2004. (GameSpy.com)

:yikes: I am hoping this is going to be released before the 23rd (my birthday) ;)

i didn't know they had decided to scale back the open-endedness of the game...that's too bad...that was what was so great about the game to begin with, IMO.
oh, well...that's just another $50 i have to spend on something else.

The game is still quite open-ended.

yea, I never heard about them making it more linear. hmmmmm. well, it still will be by far the most open-ended game out there.

I find it hard to believe people cared about the multiplayer so much. You'd have had to buy a memory card to use it. I don't know anyone who bothered to buy one, and I wasn't going to buy one for what they described the mutiplayer to be.

I never read anything that led me to believe that you couldn't have used two separate files on your HD, and have one's world hosting the other character(s). I would have bought a memory card in an instant for that.
