This link will take you to an editorial written by an author with an extremely slanted view on the multiplayer world. Saying that gamers desire "scale" in their games. It just made me laugh that he quoted games like Battlefield 1942 and Joint Operations, two PC games that IMO are sheer crap compared to Halo. Who the hell wants to play a game with 150 people! I'll take the 8 on 8. Plus, he jumps to the conclusion that Halo 2 will only support 16 players when the max number of players has yet to be confirmed. Ah, PC users just can't handle the fact that the console also supports online play.

I think PC games should support more than consoles, b/c for the most part they don't have to worry about voice chat or lag as much. 150 people talking at the same time on Xbox Live...head explodes. Halo also isn't Battlefield, so 8v8 is more suited to that type of game.

Sound familiar? You are accusing someone of being a fanboy, when you are being one yourself. Yes, Halo is the best CONSOLE FPS. But if you are going to disregard PC FPS gaming as a whole, you are depriving yourself.

Voice chat isnt an issue with PC gaming. Older games required a seprate app to do this. But newer games have it built in, and you can choose a frequency to chat on, so you dont have to worry about 150 people talking at once.

Its pretty obvoius that that a PC gamer will have his back to the wall on an xbox forum. But PC gaming is amazing, and I love it just as much as my xbox gaming.

I Agree with ya JJax, but what i disliked about his article was the fact that he stated that console gaming will "suffer greatly" if it doesn't support more than 16 player multiplayer, when we know this isn't true. I'm certainly not blasting at PC Gaming, because I play PC FPS (not as much) and XBL.

Call of Duty is the only really modern FPS I've played, and even though I just played the campaign, I was totally blown away. I used to be a big PC gamer, and played the hell out of Quake Arena when it was the hot app. And honestly, I miss PC gaming. Something about a mouse and keyboard that makes the experience. If I wanted to spend the $$ on a gaming rig, I'd most likely be playing way more PC then Xbox. But I've stayed away because I'm afraid I'll start playing one of these MMORPGs and end up on some milk carton because I won't leave the house....

But that's the whole idea behind the Xbox. It doesn't take a genious to figure out that MS put out the Xbox as a poor-gamer's PC. Just look at the games we have and are getting. Hell, the talk of Xbox Live and games like Halo and Fable are what got me to buy an Xbox instead of a PS2 when I was 'in the market'. Otherwise I'd still be playing Quake and Starcraft.

And, I have to say, console games are still nowhere as sick as PC games. Maybe the next generation will narrow the gap, but the PC will always be king in my eyes.

I play a few pc games:
Battlefield 1942 & Battlefield:Vietnam: Great Great Games
Half-life: a classic, same with all of it's mods!

I like them equally, I like how xbox live has voice chat...But so does half-life and it's mods. Sometimes I like to play a game with a ton of people, that's when I turn on the PC. But when I want a small game i'll turn on my good ol' xbox. I like them both equally.

I like PC gaming, but, I hate spending my hard earned cash with updating my machine to run these games. I strongly prefer the comfort of my own couch playing on my 50" HDTV...and best of all, when I put my game disc in my XBox, I know it works.

Other than that, I like PC gaming. I realize that I can hook my computer up to my HDTV and play on that...that also solves the couch issue...but, it's the cost of upgrading my PC that makes me cringe... too much ca$h to support that hobby. I'd rather go snowboarding during the winter time.

good point. I'd play with 150 people on halo if voice was turned off or you had squads and you could only talk to them or your friends.

I do, that's why I still play BF1942/Vietnam.

If a game comes for pc and xbox, voice chat is a huge decision for me. If xbox does and pc doesnt, then xbox wins, ala Splintercell. Cause not all pc gamers have headsets.

Still not sure what I'm going to get Doom3 for, but since I got a beefy pc, I'll probly get it for that since it's out first anyways, though the xbox co-op has me deciding =/
