Multiplayer or Single Player?
Well for me, the multiplayer has hyped me up the most, probably because we haven't seen any single player action for over a year now though.
Can't wait to get in my Warthog and blast my mates to pieces
Single player. I'm really looking forward to the multi as well, but Halo was the game that really turned me from a casual FPS'er to loving the genre.
All said, I'm sure the MP will get countless more hours from me than the SP, but I'm more hyped to see the furthur story and such.

Definitely multiplayer for me. When i think of the 70+ hours I spent on SCPT's multiplayer compared to the less than 10 on single player, that's how much of an online gaming addict i am :). Also, unless there are some memorable levels (like Halo's Assault on the Control Room), i'm likely to only play through single player once on normal and maybe try it out on legendary

No that shows how much of a loser you are :p. You need to get out with some of us and go terrorize the town!
That being said, I'm looking more forward to the single player. I believe that the story in H2 is going to many many times more in depth and much more interesting. Not that H1 had an un-interesting story line, I just think that if H2 follows along with H1 and the Halo books (First Strike in particular) the story is going to blow us away.

I would have to say the the multiplayer has me the most hyped right now. Thats probably because, well, we've heard nothing about the single-player campaign during this year's e3

Gotta love the fact that Bungie is keeping single player top secret, but that doesn't overshadow the fact that Halo 2 beat out all the MMOs at E3 for best online multiplayer.

i agree. campaign mode is gonna get old after you beat it a couple times...multiplayer is where it's at as far as replayability goes, IMO

"And now for something completely different"-Monty Python's Flying Circus
I guess everyone has their own opinions but I thought the game and story changed dramatically from that point. The story of Halo is a very compelling one and I think we will be seeing "something completely different" in the campaign. Possibly something that won't take 2 or 3 days to beat, but maybe a week or so.

I'm all over the multi-player, however, I admit I will only play the single player until beat...which should take all but a day or two :D After that, it's all about Multi-player and beating foolios down with premium Halo skillz :D

well, if its got co-op via live, then i'm definately gonna be stuck in that game for hours a day. I have a friend back in Kansas City that i used to play games with all the time, but since i've moved, its kinda sucked for both of us. Hell, I had a small 25" tv i would lug over to his place when we wanted to play brute force (coop).
But i'm excited for both, i can hardly stand the wait, for that, and for fable.

Playing through a couple of levels backwards in halo was the most stupid, unorigional, trick ever. I hope that they don't do that again. And I will be extremely p.oed if we get another level like the library

They had one year to make Halo for Xbox. They had to scrap the majority of 3 years worth of work when they were purchased by Microsoft. Give them more credit because Halo is DAMN good for the time they had to work on it. Besides, I think all the levels are great, and they fit in with the story.

do you work for bungie or are you just a bungie fanatic cause you fit the kind of person who works for them. He's right they didn't have that much time to make the game, so they had to scrap everything, including the online multiplayer.

I am proud to announce that I was the very first person to pre-order at Game Crazy...now there are over 300 people, I was told. Probably because I pre-ordered almost 2 years ago! :D

Yeah the Single Player I left alone for quite awhile after I completed it on Legandary, but a year later I found myself really digging back into it, just for the hell of it, if the Single Player turns out to be as good as we've been led to believe, then I will spend a damn long time on it after I beat it on Legandary. Specialy if there is Live Co-Op.
And if Multiplayer doesn't have bots, and someone has no Xbox Live/Broadband/Friends then that side of Halo will be pritty much wasted. Which would be a real shame, I don't have Live, I'm getting it on the same day as Halo 2.

Yes, and by this time I'll be back up at Pitt, so then I'll just play over the university LAN with people on campus (T3+ baby, woot) or go Live to play with some buds off campus.

The did not scrap anything. Everything that was going into the game did. They did the best they could with LAN play, and it was a DAMN good substitute. Online multiplayer didnt make it because the xbox live source code was not available yet. Otherwise many games would have been live at launch.
I chose the singleplayer campaign, for being more hyped about, not for playing the most. SOme people, keep saying what they are going to play the most, but that doesnt neccessarily mean its what you want to do the most. Sure i may play the campaign less then i will the multiplayer, but i really want to know how the story goes. Especially since the multiplayer is based on the single player. (Zanzibar and waterworks are based on single player situations).
OKay, Fall of reach was awsome, first strike was awsome, flood sucked (but thats because it was a different author), and now comes the conclusion. I really want to know how it ends, before some guy on live blurts it out over the communicator. SO i guess, i would pick singleplayer. Im really hyped about it.

According to Pete Parsons in this interview:

damnit, i didnt think anyone would care what i wrote. I was merely informing butterz that halo did not have live because the source code was not available.
Saying that everything that was supposed to go into the game is a overstatement of sorts, and I retract it.
Really, just butterz attitude about halo being very incomplete got to me....
i really liked halo. :bang:
Oh and as for moosearmy's statement.......all i have to say is...HUH?
im not sure if you're simply stating that, or trying to inform me. If you are, i was aware that pete parsons said that. I am also aware that he said that halo would be the last game in the halo series. I still think the story in the single player campaig will rock.

okay, if you nab the egm magazine that had this art on the cover:

one of the articles states that halo 2 will be the last halo. Now if they change their minds, that a different stroy but it was stated that they didnt want to do a new halo game every year, in the likes of the tony hawks series or final fantasy. They went on to state that that process of game making kills the genre....

Pardon me, but I have that magazine. All they say is that Halo 2 will add a sense of closure to the story. In Halo you faced disaster after disaster, but at the end, Humanity was ultimately in the same place as when it started.
I bet Halo 2 will add a sense of closure to Halo's story, not the overall story. But who can say, really?

What zero said, and I would certainly hope that Bungie doesn't want this to turn into and anually recurring game like Madden or Tony Hawk. Bungie has a nack for making good games and if they do make Halo 3, they will have to think long and hard about it.

hmmm.
i never thought of it that way. I guess i assumed to much by thinking that "closure to the stroy " meant, closure to everything in the halo universe.
Well, oni was in the halo universe, and so is marathon (to some extent). MAybe halo and the master chief will end, but the universe will conitnue to be alive....
i mean, what ever happened to fantasy siege? or project for (red fox?)?
wow. this opens up a lot of possibilities.
MAybe a halo: Gaiden? Where you play through the whole story as an elite, and get the other sides point of view.....
or maybe play as foehammer in a rails based shooter.
Geez, even a campaign mode where its a strategy game of the halo universe. Hmmm, i guess this is not such a bad thing. IF they do go on to make a halo 3 and 4 and so on....well, i hope bungie really thinks abou tit before they do. It not the master chief, the halo, nor the covenant that make up this awsome game. It the developers. And they really dont have to stick to this name to make a good game....
