they only cost money for you because you don't have an xbox live pro account. :hump:

wtf is xbl pro? That ****ing pisses me off, we spend $50 for a game, we pay for xbl, and then these mother ****ers charge for the maps. This game is going.

You also got all the OTHER free stuff that UBIsoft gives out such as the maps on RS3. They have done a lot for microsoft and I think it is justified for them to ask for 5$ more. If you DONT want to pay, then DONT and stop whining. End. :yikes:

I was talking w/ a buddy of mine about it, and I imagine there's a lot more work involved w/ these maps being that they deal w/ light and mutliple routes much moreso than ... say ... Rainbow. Either that, or Ubi is turning into a pusher on us, giving us frees DLC to get us hooked, then charging once they got us by the man-berries.

...well that is a sales technique and most companies use that to there advantage becasue they know what people want and what they will buy. And, the sad part is, that it works.

Ok...so the ubi guys are supposed to sit around wasting time, effort, manpower, and everything else making these extra maps, which probably is not a one day job, and then get nothing for it?

Why would they do that? There has to be some compensation for the work they are doing, otherwise they might as well give us nothing and spend all that time on a new game. Time spent on these maps for us good very well be spent on bigger better things, so of course they need monetary comensation.

I know it is cheap and they put some work into it but think about it. The game might not even be worth $50. No Fear and myself didn't enjoy the multiplayer that much at first. I like playing it once and a while. They have this stupid rating system and made it worse on the update. There were enough glitches at the begging of the game and there were a a lot of glitches in Rainbow Six 3. I mean they should give the maps out for free, ok. We already pay for xbl, we bought the game and it came with glitches in it, they fixed it and then gave a piece of **** rating system that nobody wants and then they ****ing charge us for maps that are supposively the best ones yet. I hate games that charge you to play the game. I mean charging maps aren't that bad if they gave you a ton like in Rainbow but Splinter, no. It came with a lot of glitches to begin with and then the first downloadable content they give out they make you pay for it. I would rather trade it in and re-buy Unreal 2.

I guess its all just a matter of personal opinion...

That and ignorance when it comes to the world of business...

They offer pay for downloadable content because you will pay for it. That's why.
Ubi did it right, off free loads on all their games, and then charge you for a few of them on their most popular games. Think of it, if all your friends have that one level, or all the active games are on that one pay for level, would you just sit there and miss out? No, you'll get it. It's just a few bucks.

I would definately agree with Thrash that these maps take a lot more time and focus to create then say GR or RS3.

Exactly...

Ubi is not going to devote, say, a week of their employees time to build extra maps without sompensation. Think of it from a business prespective. That would be bad business, you would be screwing yourself. Devoting manpower to a free service when that could be used for something like a new game is not going to happen.

I'm sure the employees were getting paid while they did it....but the company was esentially paying them to do nothing....that is if they had made it free.

They need that money otherwise the company is using its employees and its time to create something that is gaining them nothing...thats poor business

Hmmm, I understand making people pay. But why is there no preview play for the map? Like 1 free trial on each map and then you can decide to buy. I like that idea so much if I could contact Ubi I would shout it out to them.

Personally ima hear what people have to say.. I may only buy one at first.

I'm thinking of getting SC:PT, will it be impossible to find a game that doesn't have these new maps. Im not really up to paying at the moment.

Just do a search for whatever map you want to play

Don't bash on the game though for having 2 maps cost $5, cuz there are other games out there (DDR is the only one I can think of) where downloadable content costs money.
