I am just curious. I had Halo and played it to death. Then I went months and never touched it, so, I traded it off. Lately, I have kinda wanted to piddle with it, but hate to spend the money on it because the new one is just months away. I suspect I will never look back once the new one hits. To be honest, I think there will be tons and tons of used copies hit the shelves once the new one arrives.
Will you go back and play the first after the second one is in your hands?

Wrong forum :).
I've never owned Halo for Xbox, probably never will. I rented it once to play through the single player, and everybody i know and their mothers has a copy, so i didn't need my own for LAN's or stuff like that. Unless my buds just want to play around with the original after the new one comes out, i doubt i'll play it again

Im sure on day I will get nostalgic and play through the game to see what got me so excited. If Bungie doesn't bring back the old levels from multiplayer I'm sure I will still be playing SOME Blood Gulch at Halo LAN's.

I'd say yeah, I'll go back and play it. Like some of the above posts said (skimmed), I'll want to go back and see what it was that got me into this. I actually do this with a lot of my games. I went back and beat Goldeneye again (00 agent of course). Can't drop a classic.

I'll definately play Halo 1 again...there's no question. Eventhough Halo 2 will likely beat it in every way possible by improving upon everything, but, despite that, Halo 1 is currently the best damn game ever created...period.

HALO is by far leaps and bounds above all other games.
Months without touching it! I can't go through a month without playing it!
After playing it, I thought, "Man, I'd have spent $350.00 on the game if they'd thrown in the console for free!"
Bungie must have heard me or something. I just bought a second copy of HALO for $169.00 and they through in the "HALO" Xbox.
I'm Stoked!

The way I see it, Halo 1 is fantastic. Halo 2 is just more fantastic. Despite it having a new brother out, it will still own, and be a brilliant game, and most probably still be above standards of thousands of First Person Shooters that come out for years to come. There for, it stays in my collection. That's for sure.
For me, if a game ownz when I get, it will ownz for the rest of my gaming days, and I'll one day come to regret it if I sell it off.
And hey, you never know, Halo 2 could be crap ;) :D

I actually won money playing Halo at that GameRiot.com thing I was posting about. I won $500. I'll never toss it. Call me sentimental:-)

You don't just ignore a classic. I'll always have at least one copy and I will play it whenever I feel nostalgic.

Lets put it this way. I wil still play Blood Gulch, Sidewinder, Prisoner, and Hang 'em High at LAN parties. Whether they make it to the H2 disk or not, i'll play them.

I want to go back to Halo and see what parts of the storyline are filled in by Halo 2, like the Forerunner symbols on the walls throughout several levels etc... It would also be cool to play Halo and Halo 2 right in a row to experience it all at once. :)

Exactly! Kinda like watching a movie and then it's sequel...but, in this case, playing the game in order! I know I'll do that atleast a few dozen times :D

I doubt I will. I mean halo2 is gonna be such a big improvement over halo1, even if they dont include bg, sw i still probably wont play it. Any thoughts of playing thru halo 1 again are quickly destroyed by the flood. And the library.

Personally, I didn't mind the library...and I actually enjoyed smoking the Flood with the handy dandy shotgun...in fact, I beat Halo on Legendary recently (about a week ago)...it must be for the 10th time or so...and I loved every second of it.
I know that once I get through Halo 2 (give me a day or two at most), and master all of the multi-player maps, I will definately go back and play Halo 1 and then play through Halo 2.

A packers fan from Bermuda, thats odd..hehe, j/k dude.
Some games just hold a tad of nostalgia with me, even tho I never play them, I still keep them. And I still play the oldies (hell I just spent $20 on Zelda again, and I don't have enoguh apendges to count how many times i've completed that).

I'm not much for nostalgia, nor am I the least bit sentimental. Halo was without a doubt one of my favority gaming experiences EVER, but having played it to death, and I don't have anyone to play coop with, so, I just get bored with it and am ready to move on to newer stuff. Knowing everything that will happen takes the drive out of going forward. For me anyway. And I have never been a gamer who has any interest in perfecting some 'skill'. I just play for the experience, not the challenge. Once experienced, I lose motivation. Has cost me 3-4 thousand dollars in new games since I got my Xbox, but that's who I am, so...

I don't even own a copy of Halo anymore. I traded my copy for Links 2004, it was a good trade. I hardly ever played it anymore and it was just gathering dust and Links is an awesome game. I'll definately pick up Halo 2 though.

I'm with you, Bro! I'll Probably do that just as many times as I've beat the first one.
...That's a scarry thought.
At first I said that we weren't going to leave our houses for a whole month. Then I thought months... That number may have just seeped into the Year column...

I'll play Halo still, I don't think Blood Gulch is going into Halo 2, but an improved version. You can't give up a classic though so yea i'll play it.

I've got two copies for the LAN, er, System Link now. I love that aspect of it. I'm so going to keep them both! Maybe many many years down the road I'll get rid of one... But it won't even be worth a trade so I won't actually! You know!

I will never trade Halo in but it will not get as much play time as Halo 2 of course.

I don't know, man. I know it'll get a LOT of play from me. But with HALO (1) the only other game that got a lot of play was Dead or Alive 3.
Now it's Ninja Gaiden, Crimson Skies, Driv3r, Rainbow Six 3, Full Spectrum Warrior, Breakdown, Dead or Alive Ultimate, Fable, Doom 3, Half Life 2, Hidden & Dangerous, Rid**** & many new sports games that'll be rocking the Rink! ( I'm a hockey freak...)
Basically what I'm trying to say is this: To say that HALO 2 isn't going to be one of my mostly played games would be a lie. I'm just saying that I played HALO (1) Way to much because at the time it's competition for play time on my Xbox was unmatched. Now, however, There's a whole lot of love for my gaming pleasure!!
SO yeah, I'll play the crap out of HALO, but I'm totally going to be playing a lot more of the "Other" Games than I was at Launch. You know!?
