Communicator in single player

Does the Communicator work in single player for Full spectrum warrior? The case says "Headset Communicator" in green, not orange so it's not live. Can anyone help me? I haven't bought it yet.

Well the game really seems like the type of game that would have that. I mean the whole offline communicator makes sense to use to command around the squad.
