:yikes: Who thinks Blood Gulch will reappear in Halo 2 or should reappear on Halo2 because I think that BG and Hang em High are the best levels in Halo I think they should come out in Halo 2 as classics but the levels should be damaged so it could seem old. That would be great. :yikes:

I hope not cause I hate that map with a passion. But of so, I hope its a "remix" version.

i guess it owuldnt hurt if they had like an unlockable or downloadable version of the classics. But i would like to see more new maps then rehashes of old ones.

COunter strike did that, and i was tired of D_dust by the second time around.

New game, new levels. Plain and simple.

smash bros. melee for the gamecube was a sequal to one of the most adored games on the gamecube. Yet, as an added feature, they added all the classic maps.

COunter strike: source, i dont know if its an upgrade or a sequal, but it also features maps that were made famous by the original.

The truth is, its not that simple. A new game can have new maps, and probably will, but why take out maps of the first one?

especially if they dont have time to ship the maps with the game, the download content feature allows for infinite time for them to translate the old maps to the new engine.

Theres no telling if there willbe all new maps or not, and im in no way promising, nor even saying that i beleive the old maps will not make it to halo 2.

However, i wouldn't rule out the possibility completely.

if they cant get out all the content before it ships, they should just stop making games, they've been working on this game for way to long to not have a complete game at launch (unlike the first halo where they had to limit the single player due to time constraints)

It'd be nice to replay the classics on Live, but i'm sure everybody and their mothers has played the hell outta Blood Gulch and the other MP maps from Halo. I don't want to wait almost 3 years (from Halo 1's release date) just to play an old map again :)

The game will be released on November 9th with everything that Bungie wanted in the game with nothing left out.

This has been desicussed before, my opinion is that if (and most likely) they will create maps that are far superior in style, design, and balance than the first Halo, that everyone will forget there was a Bloog Gulch...and then 2 months later release it as DC

I don't really care if they keep the old ones. I sure am hoping for some maps that have Urban Combat, and some others that take place in the wilderness, though. :)

Personally, I hope they revamp the old maps and bring them to Halo 2...especially Blood Gulch and Hang Em.........and Prisoner and Derelict.... :D

yea, the pc maps were tyte, but could be better tho.

i dont want old maps to be carried over to halo 2. why? bc everybody played the hell out of those maps and they are soo good at it and its not funny.. its time for a new one where everyone can start fresh.

new game, new maps... thats all we need.

Uhhh, another one of these threads.

Yeah, it would be really cool if they threw most of the old maps in for Halo 2. I think that Bungie understands that their new game will, like it's predecessor, be a hit for multiplayer. Therefore I think that they are really just gonna load this one up with tons of multiplayer maps. I mean, why not? Even if the game isn't shipped with the old maps, I'm sure if we beg Bungie enough then they will release it for download via XBL.

Yea, bungie doesnt have to finish the game when it ships. It could give us all the essential, but a little bonus via xbox live isnt definatly not unwelcomed.

Who nees Blood Gulch when you got Zanzibar??

I dislike that level, though. There should be many more spawn points and you always start out right where you got killed only with your assault rifle while your opponent has his shotgun, sniper, etc. I'd rather have Sidewinder back then Blood Gulch.

"Don't trust to hope, it has forsaken this land"

All of the multiplayer maps that have been seen may or may make into the game. And if they do make it, they will most likely be a bit more amped up than what we have seen.

Again, Bungie will release everything that they wanted with the game originally on the ship date. No bonuses, unlockables, or 'secrets'. I wouldn't expect any DC until February +/- a month.

I agree, exactly what I posted above.

I think that all of the maps that Halo 2 will offer will be far superior to blood gulch. Almost to the point that we'll forget about the little box canyon.

i liked blood gulch a lot in the single player mode and even playing ctf online was fun but it does'nt even come close to the rat race when playing a team slayer pro over xbc lag free.

How about no

... and if by superior you mean big noob levels with a bunch of vehicles, then yes they will be far superior. Just like Halo PC

I'm still not getting this "n00b levels" term...

What I mean by superior is:
1) Better weapon placement
2) Interaction
3) Better Base Positioning
4) Better Geometric Layout (placement of walls, buildings etc.)
5) Better offensive to defensive balance

These new levels will have a ton of stuff that Halo 1's levels did not have. For example: in Zanzibar there are windows with steel awnings. These awnings have supports that can be broken allowing the player to open the windows slightly for use as great sniper points. The walls and barriers are destructable, and the base itself has switches for interaction. That right there makes the level better than blood gulch.

P.S. Zanzibar may or may not make it the final cut, but these are examples of the effort that Bungie is putting forth in the design of the multiplayer levels. Every single multiplayer map is scrutinized and thoroughly designed by the multiplayer team.

Moose...I think ScorpionX is trying to say that he doesn't like maps that have vehicles. That's it...though, you made some really good points with all of the new features that Halo 2 will have in stepping up the bar for multi-player mayhem :)

I would have to agree with ScorpionX, in regards to vehicles. I absolutely despise Ghost Ships and Tanks. Mainly Ghost Ships, though....and, I mean this during the multi-player maps...not the Campaign. I love them in the Campaign...there's no question.

But, I'm a die hard fan of the Warthog at Blood Gulch while playing CTF. It adds a great element to the overall strategy of the game...I couldn't imagine playing CTF at BG without a Warthog...it's golden!

Okay, that was too cool to use in this thread :D

Thats fine. Im not saying that the DL content has to be available when the game ships, im just saying that some extra goodies via xbox live certainly arent unwelcome.

(yes i know i used that twice.)

Goodies in february....goodies next november. Extra free stuff is extra free stuff, and i wouldn;t mind getting extra free stuff.

I think that it all depends on who makes the level. You can turn off ghosts if you want, but i think the banshees and ghosts will be dimmed down and balanced out for Halo 2. I take advantage of every game that on Halo PC (infinity and danger canyon especially) that has all vehicles because they are so easy to play in. Banshees are just too good in Halo PC, piss me off sometimes.

I trust Bungie to make the right decisions for this game. I think it would be cool to see our favorite levels again. I would love that. There would be a new twist with all of the new features of Halo 2.

I'm glad that you see the ways of Bungie and their prowess for excellent game design decisions.

Urban combat all the way!
