You get to choose your hairstyles and such, with cards I think? I read on Alter Ego that you have hairstyle cards that you can take to the local barber shop. :D

As for dying of old age, you will eventually die. I like this concept though, it adds alot to the experience if you ask me.

Yes, you choose to have a beard. They stated that you grow old, but not old enough to become feeble.

EDIT: What? I haven't heard that before. Jeeze, I'm out of touch with this game. The last I heard was that you grow old, but not old enough to die. I personally don't like that idea at all. I'm not even excited about the game anymore from all the new "features".

I could be wrong. I think I remember reading it a long time ago, but I could definetly be wrong.

Actually, knowing me, it probably is wrong. :D

Good, I hope it is. From what I heard is that you get old, but not old enough to be too feeble to still be able to swing your weapon of choice around, or cast your favorite spell. I hope that's how it is, because it sure would take a lot of the fun out of it for me if your character really did die from old age. I guess we should just wait until thrAsher posts, he'll know :p.

Very true, young one. I DO know. :p

What I've heard is YES, you can die. But not of old age. You can live to be 1,000 years old if you so desired. You choose your hair (facial included) just how RPG said, as well as tattoes, clothing (down to your socks, and these can be mismatched if you want), and jewelry. I'm making that last bit up, sort of, but if you look in recent pics, guys are wearing fanged necklaces, rings on both hands, etc.

Also, on a high note, once you've beaten the big bad wolf (or dragon, demon, whatever the hell he/she ends up being), you can continue to play in Albion. New quests will arise, and the world will continue on indefinitely. Pretty cool, if you ask me. Especially because I plan on being both a skilled ranger/mage/thief, as well as a wealthy land owner (ie: Albion will all be MINE, MINE, MINE!!!!)

I still think my first character will be a fat-ass thief. :D

Hehehe. Mine is gonna have blue hair (let it BE, BBB!!!!), most likely a mohawk, and he'll love them ladies, hate them politicians and rich bastages (can you say 'Robin Hood' complex?), and will have a certain draw to kicking chickens and boozing like a madman. But he'll remain skinny (like muah) and be very pale from basically night-owlling all the time. I'll use magic and various bows/crossbows to accomplish my tasks, as well as a bit of skullduggery.

And I will find some way to capture and train my own Balverine. I really want one as a pet. That way I have something to kick the chickens towards... :)

My first character is going to be a remorseless demon-incarnate. He will be amazingly fast if at all possible in the game. He won't have to strike from the shadows, because with his speed, strength, and abilities, he will be invincible. If someone looks at him the wrong way, that person won't have time to blink before he or she is dead. He will have black, anime-like hair, no facial hair, and will have red eyes. He will be fairly tall, and extremely muscular.

You do not die from old age, its just the time-line going on and you growing old, but doesnt nesseccarily mean getting weaker, its looks.

We can choose our height?

Aging is the one aspect of Fable I worry most about. For me, any problems that arise could be easily remedied by offering a cheat mode that would allow players to control their characters' aging process. I hope they offer this option.

You know, I have no idea. Anybody have some proof of this?

This isn't proof or anything, but maybe your height would depend on how much equipment you carry. Like if you carry a bunch of armor and swords and food, your guy will be shorter (heavier load stunts the growth or somethin like that). If you carry light armor and weapons, maybe he'll be taller...just an idea

Yeah. Who knows. It'd be interesting if you could choose to be a short, fat axe-wielding dude.

Anyway, checking www.lhtimes.com just now, appears September 14th is now the release date they're giving.

in most of the pictures ive seen (or videos) evil people have horns on their head. Is this an option that you can change or is it that if your evil you HAVE to have horns?

Cryogenic Pyro

Horns only happen if you are of the utmost level of evil, and yes, you have to have horns. I think it's stupid that you absolutely have to, but it's not my game. The same thing is with a halo, but you have to be the utmost of good.

thrAsher

I kinda wish you could choose the type of horns. Imagine big, fatty mountain goat horns. The kind that curl down and around. I'd be headbuttin' suckers left and right... :p

Ive seen some kind of horns that looked like goat horns, but not the kind you are thinking of.

I read a long time ago that originally you would die of old age about 50 or 60, but that was a long time ago and since then I have heard what has already been said that you won't become feeble. only time will tell. My guy is gonna be viking lookig dude. Either that or he is gonna go around looking like captain hook. It would be neat that if after you played through enough times that you could predict what your guy would end up looking like and eventually make decisions with the goal of trying to get him to look a certain way. Maybe I would try to get him to look like me, that would be cool. :)

I am not sure you die of old age but if you did you would finally give Albion some rest from the terrorizing you did to it. It also would make you try new things and reexperience the game from a different view.

My character will be a sweet good ninja guy that relies on speed, agile movement and lots and lots of jumping. He would act like Robin Hood or the opposite.

thrAsher

Uh....you do know you can't jump, don't you?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

He would act like Robin Hood or the opposite. the opposite, like an IRS tax collector, you know one who steals from the public and gives to the government?

note:could have said liberal in there very easily but I restrained myself. :)
