No no, not if Halo never existed, what if...

...the pistol never existed? What would be your main choice of weapon? Does anyone ever play no pistol matches? Do you think another weeapon would have stepped up as "dominant" in the pistol's absence?

I think in the absence of a pistol I'd use the plasma rifle a lot (out of the more common weapons, yes RL and sniper are still better). Given, with no pistol the Rocket Launcher would become pretty ruthless.

I think the good old shotgun would be the weapon of choice. Its my second so if I never had the pistol the shotty would be my number 1 weapon.

well.. the ar or the plasma would be my main weapon. i just simply waste them away at close range to take out their shields then melee them.

I'd probably use the plasma pistol instead. if not that then the plasma rifle

Sniper Rifle and Shotgun, I usually sub the pistol for the Sniper depending on the level, but if there were no pistol, prolly just those two.

Well, since you can hold two weapons, and let's say the pistol didn't exist, I would naturally equip myself with the Sniper and a Rocket Launcher.

Shotgun and the sniper rifle, if I couldn't grab the rocket first. But seriously damn, no pistol, that changes the game dramatically :P . Sometimes we play no snipers with tanks only as vehix in CTF which is pretty cool and even the thought of no pistol is depressing.
