I don't own the game and I'm not sure if you can do this but I do have some general tips. DONT blitz Defensive Tackles. Try shifting the defensive line inward to stop any rushing attacks up the middle then shift your linebackers out to try and stop any outside runs. Also note the placement of the tightend, generally a play is ran to the strong side which is the side with the tight end. Trying shifting your linebackers more towards the side with the tightend. But don't get to carried away because if they run a counter or a weak side run you could be in trouble. Also if your 85% sure they are going to run and you have decent corners. Try pressing them up on the wide recievers, this will put them in place to better help stop the run.

Also try and take note of the situiation. Rarley does any team run on 3rd and long. They mainly run on 1st and secound and short. But it really all depends on who your playing.

These are just some general tips I have for stoping the run. Sorry if they seem obvious to you and you feel I have insulted your intelegence.

The #1 problem for me when I try to stop the run on legend is the fact that my defense gets damn tired damn fast and when the other team is switching off its runners, you really don't have a chance.

I don't reallly know how to combat this except perhaps substituting players in and out, but I don't think this is a very feasible tactic.

It may be a mistake, but sometimes I have to call a timeout just to give my defense a break on legend so that the runner doesn't just run all over me.

If you guys have any further tips for mitigating fatigue, please share them.

lol A field goal block could probably do a pretty good job of stopping the inside run!

Spread your lineman and linebackers out. I spread my lineman out so they can get to the outsides quicker and usually don't move the linebackers untill they start breaking off chunks of yards going up the middle then I move them in closer.

I call my defense based on formation ... if some is running a jumbo set there is no reason to have a nickel or dime in ... your LB's should be able to cover their TE's ... and the converse is true ... if they have 3 WR's in then you should have some kind of nickel or dime ... having the right defensive personnel will help also ... your DB's are not going to be as strong as your LB's for run support.

I try to funnel everything to the inside of the field if I can ... I leave the DL where they are maybe just shifting right or left ... I don't like pinching or spreading them (too many gaps) ... take the LB on the wide side of the field and bounce him out a little ... with the pressure from the LB you should be able to turn the run back inside where the rest of your team is. The short side of the field should be covered by the other side ... try to keep them inside and gang tackle them. hope thios helps

[QUOTE=wise_panda] DONT blitz Defensive Tackles. /QUOTE]

I don't believe that its possible for a DT to blitz. It is not considered a blitz. The job of the D-Line is to "blitz" every play; so it is not called that. The only time that a D-Lineman will not "blitz" is if the play called is a stunt.
