"After introductions in the main lobby we were escorted into a secured area housing six 48" High Definition monitors all pulsing with Halo 2's blue menu screen."

Damn those guys are lucky. I would do anything to have Halo 2 presented to me like that.

Anyway, very good read. It kind of made me realise how much more balanced they've made this game. Not having health packs is kind of something I can't make a decision on untill a pad is in my hands and Halo 2 is in my Xbox. It just seems that now you really will die regulary, and you won't be able to bounce from battle to battle claiming you haven't died yet. But, despite that, it does seem like a respectful choice.

Glad the melee situation has been solved, I hated it when people were quite far behind you and yet they still managed to get a quick kill in. Guess that doesn't matter so much now though because of Dual Weilding.

The Sniping Recoil is something I'm gonna have to get used to, now I know why it's so much easier to get headshots on Halo than on any other FPS. But I think that, overall is for the best. Stops people from loosing it and randomly shooting in someones general direction untill they find someones head.

Like the fact you have to get someone else to escort you back in Capture the Flag, makes it much more of a team effort than a one man mission. That's the problem with Capture the Flag in games like Unreal Tournement and Quake 3, no one else is really that involved, just swoop in, pick it up and jump back. I guess the fact you have to hold X to pick up the flag now will change that a bit too.

Gooooood Readin :)

Over all thats what I got from this article was that it seemed that they were making a whole hearted effort at balance. The health pak thing will be a cool thing I think. No bothing with trying to run all the way back for it in a BG situation.

Good find, nice read. I like the flag person running slower and needing to be picked up

I'm not sure what I think of the no health pack thing. On one hand, it will prevent individual players from complete and utter domination, though strong players will still be able to distinguish themselves. On the other, it seems like it could make defense on CTF much more difficult, which might also be a good thing since a 4 v 4 5 capture game can sometimes last an hour or more. Who knows?

Well, the no health pack thing does force you to focus a bit more on surviving, but really how big a deal is it? I mean, I pick up a health pack onece in a blue moon. When you consider that the vast majority of these games will be played 8 v 8 via Xbox live, the less items there are to camp the better. As for the slow flag, same thing, with that many people playing, all with headsets, there's no reason a carrier shouldn't have cover.

Awesome find brevity, great read with some good confirmations and nice new info.

Good read, but, mostly review. It's not 100% accurate, though...the pistol is, in fact, in Halo 2...however, at this stage, it's been dumbed down...no scope and it is weaker, too.

Not that that is a bad thing.. you know it had to be done.

For sure...but, I heard that a person would have to unload an entire clip to bring someone down...but, then again, I heard that duel wielding pistols is pretty effective.

I'm looking forward to using the battle rifle, reminds me of the M4A1 that the present day military uses.
