Stole this idea from BNet, but it's a very good questions: Health Handicaps in Halo 2?
We've all played with family or friends that are new to the game, and have absolutely no chance at an even game. I've had to play grenade-less, inverted (i usually play default), using only the plasma pistol or rifle, among others. Do you think Halo 2 should include a feature to "even the odds" against less experienced players, or should everyone learn the "hard way."

Learn the hard way. Life sucks sometimes...the n00bs should just get over it

Learn the hard way. My friends did and they come relatively close to beating me now. I said close, not actually beating me. :D

I can't think of a time I've ever opposed developers giving gamers more options.

You dont get better if you get handicaps.

i personally dont care. as long as on LIVE, only the host can "okay" handicaps....and it says it on the server...
i dont want n00bs turning on auto aim, or infinite ammo, or 400 percent health without me knkowing it...
or hardcore playersa turning on 400 percent health or infinite ammo etc....then that would be just ghey....

They need to learn the hard way, and I don't want some stupid ass newbie thinking he's better than me ;)

Exactly. Options + knowlege = better game.

I chose the last option...
(waits for the "OMG STFU n00b, I'll OWN U n00b", "UR FIRED LOLOLOL", or whatever else has been said in that monstrosity of a thread about the bees)

Guess what, auto-aim is already there.

Hard way all the way.
noobs may be annoying and suck.. but they make a great target practice for the experienced.

I know my girlfriend would like to have that in the game. :)

Ah...there's nothing more satisfying than smoking a n00b...back to back to back...

But (on a semi-serious note), I have a cousin that lives in Minnesota and travels here about twice a year back home to visit, and he rarely plays Xbox due to the fact he doesn't own one and he works a lot. When we want to play Halo, the games always turn out to be pretty much no fun because I (or my brother) smoke everyone, and then we all end up playing MOH: Rising Sun because we can go at it together against some bots (however crappy that game may be). If there were a way to "even the odds," we might find ourselves playing Halo more.
As a side-bar: I have a broken Controller S (A and B button work after a good smack and the L Trigger is not functional) that I use as a handicap when I play against some n00bs, makes you really appreciate those grenades.

haha, what a way to play.
You also make good points there, but I still stand by my choice. You never forget the feeling when you've taught your newb to survive in the real world, straight after he's sniped you, stolen your warthog and starts doing donuts around your corspe.
Ahhhh..

Yeah sure, add them in. More options to a game can't hurt it.
