Getting an Xbox in one Week

I bought Halo and a System Link Cable yesterday, but have to wait until next Saturday to get an Xbox. I have $108.61 left, but I can get a loan from my mom if I need it. So, which is better:

I'd go with the second one jsut because I wouldn't trust a used Xbox. They tend to not work.

Eh, whats so bad about the refurbished one again? mine got stolen, im good with a used one. Just wanted to know what the chances are that it doesnt work. and what kind of problems i would encounter....

Don't forget about Costco's lifetime warranty.....definately get the second one (assuming you have a membership there)

I would just go out and purchase the Halo XBox instead. It's $179.99, it comes with the best damn XBox game and it's a limited edition.

Besides, you can pick it up at most retailers right now...Best Buy, Game Crazy, Electronic Boutique, etc...

A lot of the older Xboxes have bad dvd drives and will get dirty disc errors every 5 minutes. Mine does it and I've heard from a lot of others that have had the problem. If you buy a used one there's a pretty good chance that soemone was having that problem adn decided to trade it in and get a new one.

I got my from a costco in canada. It was 200 cdn and I got 2 controllers, a dvd playback, 3 games and the xbox of course.

Well, ive been a diehard nintendo fanboy since the nes. I finally ended that by buying my first non-nintendo console ever. I want to play Conker, MGS2 (Twin Snakes on gamecube was the funk!), Dance Dance Revolution, and of course Halo 1/2. I'll also probably look into getting KoToR, fable, and Ninja Gaiden. Its funny, but 3 years ago i woulda told any x-brick fan to shove it up the arse. Things have really come full circle. :P Gamecube still has some really cool stuff on the horizon ( New Zelda, Metroid Prime 2, RE4, Star Fox, Pikmin 2, and Viewtiful Joe 2), but it doesnt have all the games i wanna play.....one console just isnt enough anymore. I draw the line at buying anything Sony makes though. Final fantasy or not Sony just doesnt have anything to offer, if MGS3 doesnt eventually make it to xbox i'll just buy it on PC.
