Apparently I suck. I got my ass handed to me on a plate. Out of playing for 1.5 hours on Xbconnect, I managed but 1 kill.

I used to be good at Counterstrike and Rogue Spear for the PC, but after an abscence of online gaming, I seem to have lost my touch.

I guess there is nothing else to do but try to improve my skillz.

The game is fun regardless I think. I know it wouldn't be if you're constantly being killed. But try playing a different game type. You could try making the satelites as your only goal. Stuff like that.
And of course you also got single player.

But as far as playing better, I don't know. I'm usually dead very quickly, but that's because I have a bad habit of shooting too much, while not protecting myself.

also... dont squeeze the trigger till you run out of ammo in the magazine.

squeeze a burst or two into the head. most of the time they will die in one burst if you get used to it.

Dude, get XBL. If you can't get broadband, move somewhere so you can. I thought halo was the only game played on xbc. Anyhow, its all about the people you play with IMO. If you get into a game with a great group of people, no matter how hard you suck, its still alot of fun.

Unfortunately I cannot get XBL. I just don't have the time to justify paying for an online gaming experience. XBC is cool cause it is free, and the odd time I get on for an hour, it does not cost me a dime.

Well I was going to say that don't expect to just hop into a game for the first time and be good at it. Rainbow Six has been out forever now and people have been playing it nonstop just practicing and honing their skills. People you play against know the maps way better than you, know the good hiding places and know the characteristics of their weapons. I've only had Live for a few months now, and it was extremely frusterating jumping and playing the older games.
I have discovered that real world tactics do not work against people who just know the maps better than you. They know where to expect you to pop up, they know how long it takes a spawn to arrive at key areas and so on. So, it's an uphill battle, and you have to accept that you will get your ass beaten until you start learning these things yourself.
For instance, I just got PGR2, and I'm only a level 6 online but everyone else is usually a level 30 or higher because the game has been out for so long.
It's no big deal, but you just have to know that being new is a challenge.

So true, this is why we had a big forum on the PC end of things asking for a multiple spawn game option. Give each team 3 possible spawn points around the map, that way you never know which point they started from, and therefore don't know which way to expect them from, so things like those timed "blind frags" into a place where people will be coming stop. Rogue Spear had that game option I believe and I have no clue why they haven't implemented it yet in R63.
