New ESPN Football League

Well I didn't make it into the latest league for clan council, so I decided that maybe I should start my own? I dont know, I really want to have another league with some dedicated peeps, maybe a limit of 16 people on the league. Post in here if you are interested, or catch me on AIM at bretman1234. Dedicated only, remember that, and we should be having a draft for the teams that won't be used.

Keep 'em coming. I'm not making the league until we have the correct number of people. I guess I'm going to copy the basic layout of the new CC league, and not allow any teams above 86 overall rating to be picked. We will then have a draft from the teams that are above 86 and the teams that are not used that are below 86. All players rated above 75 on those teams not used shall be put into the draft, and the draft will have 10 rounds. It is a chance for bad teams to improve heavily. The Teams you cannot pick are as follows:

Patriots
Panthers
Ravens
Eagles

I will be using the Lions, hopefully they can compete, I like the offensive firepower they have. The draft will start with the worst overall teams and finish with the best. Tiebreaker will be offensive rating.

I'm thinking in the draft instead of going 1,2,3,4,5....16 in the first round and then 16,15,14,13....1, I might just have it go 1,2,3,4,5....16 in the first round and then repeat the same for the second round. Then in the third round it will switch back to 16,15,14,13....1. That way, the ugly teams can beef up (hopefully) while the already good teams can improve on quality players and not get too strong. We will see how people are in favor of this.

If I had a suggestion guys, I would recommend NO draft. It is a painful process, and then you have to get extra people to log on and figure out what players go to which team. We had some trouble with it in the new league that is starting up at CC, so I just thought I would let you know.

Going by what Chewy said and by what Casper told me, I regret to say there will be no draft. You can change your team now if you'd like, but the 4 teams I listed on my second post are still off limits. Anybody but them.

I am a 34yr old guy who likes to play video games when my kid goes to bed, and my first video game was Space Invaders, so you guys will kick my ass anyway. But one thing I am is committed, If I do something I wont quit. Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to play in your special league...But until that time I will be waiting with anticipation.

I understand that, and I'm sure you would be fine. But for a reason which is not your fault, letting an unknown into a league is not a good idea. Stick around XBA, get to know us, and let us get to know you, and I'm sure you will get into all the leagues your 34 year old heart desires. But unfortunately, you are still new to me and being the league commissioner, I'm not about to put my league and the other 7 members at risk to go on a hunch. Like I said, stick around, this isn't me telling you to get off xba.

what's going on with this league? i have nobody to play, but only 1 out of 3 games that could be played is. i thought for sure with 8 teams we'd be golden on no missed. it's exactly the opposite. half the games have been blown off...it sucks.

I don't expect you to get my games going. But it's difficult when there is no way of contacting my opponent other then the message board, which obviously doesn't visit or he would have responded to my post that is titled with his username.
