How do you pick them up? I can't find a screen to go to and get free agents... Is it not an option?

you have to make a roster with them in it. my franchise quarterback is huck qwerty, a player i created, so i know it works. i'd tell you exactly the process to do it, but my roommate is on my xbox w/his madden game and new live account (see "sharing xbox" thread in xbox forum)

In Franchise mode go to Front Office than to Contracts. You can use the black and white buttons to scroll through teams and one of them is the free agents.

In Madden go to rosters then down to Free Agents. A cool trick is to buy some of the better free agents, and trade them to other teams for their #1 picks. If it says that it would put the team above 55 players, just choose 2 of their crappiest players and go from there. I'm the Bengals and I have I believe a total of 4 #1 picks. It might be cheap, but oh well. Its also good to trade out of your #1 pick if you are goign to do well. That way you odnt get stuck with the last pick in each round. Thats what I've done, and I can't wait to get four awsome rookies. If your team has cap problems try to get your better players to re-sign long-term deals. I played with Atlanta and they have 7 million in salary cap room, afetr trading Dunn and a few others to get slightly worse players, I ended up with 20 million. So if your team has salary cap problems, trade away your more expensive players for slightly inferior, but greatly superior in the cap room department.
