That's the correct link...but i'm sure they said the same thing with VC and GTA3, but still released it on xbox a year later...

Heres the actual link... http://www.computerandvideogames.com/news/news_story.php?id=109046

It will make its way to Xbox. GTA3 and GTA:VC really came to Xbox out of nowhere. It will most likely be the same with SA.

It wasn't mentioned, merely means the public doesn't know yet, if they are... I would find it insane of Rockstar to not release an Xbox version after the obvious sucess of the Double Pack. Though I'm not as interested in SA as most people, or as I was with Vice City, I just don't see why you would cheat yourself out of money by not releasing an Xbox version, but a PC version.

Nobody looks at the postive of this... They also didn't say they wern't making an Xbox version. :)

Ok so it probably will make it over, but this does comfirm that won't be for a very long time. They would have announced it on Xbox if it was coming out any time before or around the PC launch.

If they dont then that means they dont like money.

Unless Sony is giving them a piss load, just like they did with GTA3 and VC to stay 'exclusive' for that long. Yea, doesn't sound good, but they won't do it, it'll probably come out next year.

I remember a few magazines saying that they could only release Vice City and Liberty City on Xbox if they dropped the GTA bit of it. They didn't, but it does make you wonder how far they could go.

It's okie for me that SA stay on PS2. :)

Enough with Fable and Halo 2.

Shadow, dude, promise me one thing, after tomorrow, please take that damn Fable countdown out of your sig. It's seriously depressing me.

Anyway, yeah, I'm not that bothered that it won't be around for awhile. Your right, we do have enough quality titles. But San Andreas will be one hell of a game, and there isn't really anything like it to fill the gap for awhile.

And please, no one mention true crime.

San Andreas was involved in the GTA Double Pack deal with the Xbox. It will be released for the Xbox as early as Spring '05.

OXM a few months back.
Weird, being that it's OXM and I don't believe alot of stuff they put in there - sure it wasn't Rumor Mole? Honestly, it was announced well after the double pack, so I don't see how it was part of the deal.

I'll see if I can pull something up though.

Snowblind

I don't remember what part it was from, it could have been from the Rumor Mole.

The deal they made includes any or all future GTA games maybe?

EDIT:Now that I think about it, a lot of things OXM says isn't true i.e Manhunt having online play. :p

Btw, the reason for the double pack, that I remember when they announced it, was that being that Sony & Rockstar were involved in an exclusive contract that ended in '03, they had to sell the double pack for the XBox in order to not void the contract.

I also read somewhere that the game will be released on the box no earlier then April 2005. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't OXM.

lol, yeah with too much freedom you often get bordom. I still think its really cool, but GTA ain't all that like reviewers seem to think. Definite 9-9.5 out of 10, but no way is any GTA a 10/10. Probably no game is that (except for Shrek 1, that was brilliant).

Even though the GTA series is repetitive it still is a great series. I love the freedom it gives you.

By freedom do you mean driving around a city of pop-ups until you get tired of it?

Jamo

Gta id dull and vastly overglrified. I'd give it an 8 or 7.5. I was waching my cousin pla Vice City and it almost put me to sleep. Even playing it was a drowsy experience for me.

Whisper

I admit, the first couple days of playing GTA is amazing.. once you've seen the city and are well into the game, are done running people over and running from the law.. the point of the game simply just fades away.

I would give it a solid 8/10 simply because it was ground-breaking, but is has little to no replayability.

I could care less GTA wasn't THAT good...

seems people forget that content in any magazine is finished about a month before you actually get said magazine in your mailbox. lots of things change that they are unable to update since the magazine is already in production and getting prepped for shipping.

I get tired of playing those games after a day or two anyways, after the original thril of running over people passes.

It gets it's popularity from the younger crowd that still giggle when they run over a ped.

Jamo

For some strange reason I find the freedom not so free in the GTA games. I listen to what peopl say they like about GTA. The reply I heard the most is to run around killing people. And they say it as if it were the only game that allows that. And every time I hear some punk on G4TechTV say ' I think the GTA series is the best ' it just makes me mad and hate the game more. They seemed more like casual gamers to be honest because of their reasoning.

Hey,
You can't always get what you want. It's bull**** gaming politics. Just like Xbox and Ninja Gaiden. That was the shizit back in the day. Don't dwell on what you should or could have but rather what you DO have and be thankful each and every day. HALO 2 anyone??? And honestly, how many people who own the Double Pack on Xbox has beaten both games? Not me

Bah! GTA is very overrated. Couldn't play GTA:VC for over an hour without forcing myself...
