What Is Fable About.

I have read many threads and posts and people are complaining, I saw one post saying Fable is not all free roaming as they say it was, what does this mean.
I want to roam about and go where I want, and after completing the game I want to continue and grow old can I do this or not?

You can, they meant you can't run all over or jump on/over things like morrowind. Its more like KotOR where you have paths.
