Hey all.

i was thinking of canceling my live subscription as my mum barely lets me play xbox anymore.

if i cancel it once it runs out of the 12 month thing then if say in 3 months if i buy another card...can i sign up again as 'Rochey' and retain all my stats and friend list?

yeh thats what i thought :/ they tried to make you keep paying them otherwise they would take away all your stats and friends list. So it was an incentive to keep ur account active. which sucks cause i like my name 'Rochey' i dont want it to have to be Rochey69r...maybe if i made a new one i would make it dirty...and hopefully get through like 8 months of it...then get a mate to 'complain about my name' and then they make me change it but give me another year of live... :)

Which one is it? I have the same dilemma sort of. I am going to use the 12 month subscription card but I don't want to change my name or lose my friends list. Can it be done and can someone provide facts and not what you think?

once u call and cancel ur account your gamertag goes into the gamertag graveyard :( . So you wont be able to cancel ur account and say ur stats and wont be able to use the same gamertag. I know this because i called xbox live when i was going to cancel my account until halo 2 came out because i didnt really use it that much because of work and college. And the guy from xbox live services told me that once u cancel ur account u lose ur stats and u or anybody else cant use that gamertag. so then i just decided to keep the account, its just 6 dollars a month anyway.

yeh thats sortof like me. But still its dog of them to do that. They should keep ur name and stats for 6 months so u have the option to leave it for 6 months then get back on it. well thats what i recon anyways...my account runs out nov 15...im gonna play halo 2 and see if its good on live...if its not i will cancel.

I'm pretty damn confident that Halo 2 should be bad ass on Live.

I'm debating on using the headset, though...I can seriously get annoyed, after a long time, listening to a bunch of crazy ass punks screaming and yelling over nothing.

I agree that Halo 2 will be badass on live and I agree that listening to a bunch of screaming punks gets annoying, however, I think the headset will be crtical for communications with your team in CTF and team slayer. That's one of the problems with Halo PC is trying to type **** to your team while you're playing. I believe you can also mute any individual you want to. By the way, I picked up a 12 month subscription to live for $39 and that is cheap.
