i think that the 'unexpected allies' previosly talked about are some of the covies (after all, all the covies who aren't elites or prophets are slaves fighting for the prophets, right?).

any comments?

I'm a good story follower; however, I'm not close to being the most hardcore dude about the Halo storyline. Though, it seems to me that the first multi-player video shown at E3 described where the Master Chief got his armor. It's an upgrade, apparently.

Im sure this will all be addressed in the game, but the MC's armor is an upgrade (Mark VI instead of Mark V I think). New weapons courtesy of military R&D most likely... Remember the Pillar of Autumn was a very under-equiped ship so the weapons there on Halo didnt reflect what would be used back on Earth. I have no idea what ship you are talking about. And since Cortana is an AI she can change her own appearance.

Of course all the updated stuff is really just in there to make to game play and look cooler. :p

I have read all the books many times. His armor HAS to be above Mark V. In the first Halo marines would say "Hey look, a Mark V". Therefore the upgraded version would be at least a Mark VI.

I remember Zero talking about how you start off with your old armor, but somewhere in the beginning, you upgrade.

I'm sure he receives his Mark VI armor at the beginning of the game, or he just starts out with it and you never see when he gets new armor. He gets new weapons because it wouldn't be cool if the weapons were the same... What new ship? Cortana just has an updated look, it hasn't "changed" storywise.

I'm pretty positive that the Covenant social structure will break down, so expect some civil war style action in the game. ;)
