genma onimusha: need help badly!

thanks to anybody who helps out in this dilemmer:

1) how do or can i kill that doll (which apparantly isn't in the ps2 version) that spins around with blades? you first encounter this doll when you go to take the left crest piece off of the doll. it's impossible and is very easy to die when you encounter the doll, i have to keep running away when you enter a room with the doll in it. the worst part is that the doll keeps appearing in rooms now (especially in the east area). even now with my maxed wind orb, i can't kill the **** thing.

2) man these flourites are hard to find, i've only gotten 8 and i'm nearing the end of the east gate portion (if I could just kill that woman-bug thingy). anybody have some flourite tips?

3) what am i supposed to do with that gear-device machine? i am thinking it's missing something like another cog or gear by appearance but I've been very careful to look around and there isn't one at all so far! i've tried using everything on it.

4) are you supposed to get all the codebooks? i am missing some volumes in my codebooks but again, being careful to search and so far coming up with nothing!

ps: i hope genma onimusha 2 comes to the xbox, this is fantastic. keeping me entertained very very well, even though i die about every ten minutes! this game is very very hard, no lie!

the dolls only purpose is to cause u damage and try to waste ur talisman.when u encounter the doll the best thing to do is run and try to dodge it when it comes at ya by using r and tapping a direction to the side to try to avoid the attack where it comes flying at you.but by no means waste your time fighting this evil doll.i learned my lesson the hard way.i'll be posting some more helpful tips later today or 2moro to help ya with ur other questions

thanks for the help on question 1 and now i know! argh! but i think i'll have to play over again now though because i mistakenly forgot to go to a part in the west area which had the vision staff and my last volume of byakko. now i see a piece of fluorite that you can only get as kaede and i think i've finished playing her permenentally because she is injured now.

i answered numbers 2, 3 and 4 just about an hour ago in a fluke reaction to my writing.

here's some more dilemmas:

1) can you get past those doors where the tougher bull ogre and the three regular bull ogres are in the west area? when you use the door, it says that the lock is plus-shaped which makes me think that it is openable. as well, it shows that there is something beyond the door in the map which makes things even more interesting!

2) i just got into the dark realm and am finding it crazily difficult, did you find it very hard too???

3) did you get all 30 fluorite crystals?

4) did you manage to beat the game in under 3 hours? for obvious reasons.

1.yes u can get past those doors give me a moment and i'll tell u exactly how if u haven't already figured it out
2.yeah it was very hard but luckly i mad it through.the second time it got easier for me

level 10 of the dark realm, right?? oh boy, so close, just on level 9 and then i die! :) thanks for the tip! i should probably play again because i need under 3 hours for the unlock and i'm resting at a heavy 4 hours because of going back and forth! argh!

actually i shouldn't complain, halo at legendary is impossible for me, still have yet to beat that sucker. i'm thinking of doing it cooperatively soon...

the first and the last boss was the hardest for me
the first because i did'nt know what the **** i was doing at the moment and the last because he's pretty tough the first time u met him.and i would also have to say tha **** doll because the first couple of times i played i thought i was supposed to kill it cause it kept popping up and i died about ten times trying to kill it(had to put the doll in even though it's not a boss).the bosses in the middle i flew through cause i maxed out every weapon i got as soon as i got it by killing everything in sight and then killing them over and over again but u cant use that strategy when trying to beat it in under 3 hours.

the best way to beat it in under 3 hours is to do so in easy mode.once youve done it in easy mode it then will become easier for u to do in normal mode.

I have been trying and trying to beat the fighting realms ( the ones past the secret door). Do I have to get through all of those soul dispensor realms before I get the ocarina. I'm on the second one, you know the one with the load of bull ogres. Any suggestions on how to beat these areas. There p#**ing me off.

you have to get to level 20 of the drywell dark realm to get the ocarina.you dont have to beat all the realm's in order to beat the game but if u can pull it off the reward will be great.hint:in order to beat these u must have all your weapons maxed out plenty of herb and or medicine and it's also good to have a talisman and a few soul absorbers.

...the realms after level 7??? that's as far as i manage to keep getting to and then i always keep getting cornered and can't perform proper blocks nor open my inventory to use medicine. please don't say that you have to fight those bosses again though because most of the strategies you used (ie, lot of space to move around or running in circles around a solid object) aren't available anymore. and to think there is a difficult mode too!

but luckily, my time is still only at 2:10, that's not bad at all!

man, i was checking the ps2 version's realms system and the ps2 players have it a lot easier than we do as how their monsters are spread out into the game. i really hate though how

ps: just curious, if i don't get 30 flourites this time (i only have about 22 going down into the stupid realms). i should still be able to do it in easy mode right and get the bonus. because i really do not want to play this game over again, it was so so so so hard.

my friends in the very start of genma how in the hell do i open the chest with the japanees or chinees writing igot the book i put down all the right thing it wont open.. im tlking about the first chest anyways please tell me the right way i would appreciate it...

the first chest is a little bit of a problem, i got stumped on it too because i thought it basically wanted what it said but the right sequence is 'the clan of ogres'.

and you are just on the first chest.... i'm off to make a flourite guide because i can't seem to find all of them. argh.

when doing the realms one key is to try to take the monsters out as quick as possible as soon as u see em popping up just get to attacking em(on the harder ones rush em and use ur magic til they drop.always try to take out the ones that cause the most damage first.).oh by the way u can block and bring up ur items menu at the same time.try not to block too much because if your just trying to block everything more foes will be popping up and all will be trying to attack u at once making it harder for u to drop ur block and attack em dont get me wrong i'm not saying don't block but do more attacking and also use ur dodge,side step moves.also avoid using ur magic on the weaker foes and try not to let the weak foes cause u any damage.also if u have the matchlock use it it works well against almost any foe allowing u to pick them off as they pop up also use ur soul absorbers(allows u to kill all the foes without having to touch them.

about the flourites if u have 22 once u complete the dark realms u should have like 26-28 maybe more.but if u have given up u can do it in easy mode and get the bonus.but u can't get the extra ranking in easy mode.good luck

oh crap, there is a ranking system on top of all this! have you started playing the difficult mode? impossible?

also what are some strategies to kill the last guy, i tried skipping the realms in order to fight the last guy regardless of the flourites and am now coming up with death. i heard in order to be attacking properly, the screen has to flash so basically you can waste your magic but as long as the snake creature doesn't fall down and the screen flash, you've done nothing. is that right? for this end boss, do you need to max out your weapons here too?

also, is there a way to get herb if you've used too much or are you stuck and just have to play again?

ps: my friend was telling me that after you win in the ps2 version, you get a panda suited sunakosuke (sp?). i wonder if you get the same...

is if u have the bishamon sword which in order to get you have to complete the dry well dark realm to get the ocarina.but it's still possible to beat him with out it by using the following method:
soon as it's time to fight run up to his coils and start unloading all ur orbs.when fortinbras leans forward make sure u hit him in the head.when yo do a flash goes off and that means it hurts him more than a regular hit,so take advantage of that.be careful when you see fortinbras pull his hands back to make a grab at you.back off as fast as u can when his hands come down cause if u get caught ur dead.once u empty your orbs on him back away as far as u can and if there are any energy balls floating arround suck em up.then equip your bow and unload all ur arrows on him,then empty ur matchlock on him while ur firing on him u must also dodge his attacks to dodge the thunder blast make sure u arent on the pink spot,for the fire breath head to one of the corners in the back,for the eye laser hold r and side step back and forth to avoid the beams(u know it's coming when he drapes one of his wings in front of him)during all of this watch for more energy balls collect em when u have enough for more orb spells use em.with patience and luck you'll beat em.

yes i'm playing difficult mode now almost done with it.all of your attacks hurt him but when the screen flashes it hurts em more.for the end boss all of ur weapons must be maxed out or it'll take longer to kill him.
if youve used all your herb then you'll probaly just have to play again.yes there is a ranking system d-s then there's an extra ranking system which can only be gotten in normal and difficult modes.

autauro, dude im a dumbass is there a seconed decoder book around this place cause the only one i have doesnt say the clan of orges it sais "subverted by their power a man against the demons." is there more books in the levels past me or forward ive gone forward but i find no book and i need anotehr one to open another chest.... do by any chance have an online guide or walkthrough

Level the sword up by hitting enhance at a magic mirror...select your sword and press A, then watch your soul count go down quick :eek:

Now I have some questions...do you have to go into the dark realm to finish the game and where do you find that matchlock?? I have bullets but nothin to shoot em with

for the bull ogres i use one soul absorber to knock some soulls free to refill your magic. and just use your thunder or fire magic on them at full power, becarefull they dont fall down after you hit them.

yeah, i have a slight problem with the Dark Realms...i want to go through them both but all i have is 1 herb, 1 Medicine, and a bad full of hope ^^;; anywho can anyone tell me if its possible to at least do the 10 lvl Dark Realm with what i have? I've beatin Onimusha 1-3 on Hard difficulty, but Genma Onimusha is just a pain in the rear. If you have any info on finding more herbs and/or medicines please let me know.
