So I'm on HALO 2 last night and I went into a room where people were bashing guys with 2 medals or less. I don't get it. Some people work and have families and school. It wasn't me who was getting bashed but others who I came to the defense for. It's getting really out of hand. There was a guy on there with 8 medals and thought he was HALO 2 god or something. XBL is supposed to bring people together and I don't care how bad or good someone is (I can understand if it was a clan match but it wasn't ) as long as we are all having fun. If you heard this guy bashing people you would have gotten mad like I did. Way too serious man.

I hear ya man. That is one of the reasons that I play with the guys from XBA most of the time. When I spank guys, the last thing I do is taunt them after the game. There isn't much I hate worse than people like that. I try hard to get people to stop the smack talking, but it usually doesn't work. What I have found though, it don't start yelling, or calling them names. They just get worse.

It's always that one person that must find some detail in the game to compare themselves with.
It happened to me recently. I'm at level 6 in the rumble pit and I won a 25pt slayer on lockout. I'm talking first place and I beat a level 8 guy by 3 kills. I only got one medal and it was for a beat down.
This guy is like "Well you only got one medal.. you suck."
Whatever dude, you still lost.

Many people are being a**holes online... They figure no one will actually be able to meet up with them in real life, so they are safe.

Just ignore them... If no one listens to them most of them eventually shut up (and probably feel real stupid too).

:hail: Right on buddy! I agree 100%. Please add me to your friends list also. When someone starts the smack talking after a match, the best thing to do is hit the "B" button and leave them talking to themselves. :) Also, don't forget that you can leave feedback on people after a match and I believe one of the categories is "poor attitude."

What gets me is people, or dumb white kids, calling other players n****r in a derogatory manner. Calling your bud or clan mate that in a friendly manner doesn't bother me, but when people use it as an insult, I wish I could jump though the TV and kick their stupid teeth in.

I've played over 250 games and I have never been in a game where somebody was being a complete *******. You do run into people that take the rankings a bit too seriously but it isn't bad at all.

In regards to the first post, medals, as in postgame medals awarded for specific kills? How do you even make fun of someone with few medals? Medals are awarded for specific ways of killing people. Many games I will come in first but with no medals simply because I just SMG - PISTOL'd the whole time, didn't snipe, didn't melee in the back, didn't stick a plasma. Medals don't show skill, just variation and special conditions you had during the game. For instance, you don't always get the sniping medal or have the opportunity to bash someone in the back.

Oh man.. I was playing Team Skirmish just now with Snoochy and some random strangers and this guy kept calling me the "N" word. Not that one that ends with an "a", the one that ends in "er".
They're saying like.. get that ..... kill that... don't let that >>>>>> get the flag.
I was thinking.. jeeze.. well, I started using some choice words, but it's just stupid.
The N word? For what? To show how stupid you are really?

Saddly, many of those annoying dweebs exist on XBL :( I didn't get into mechassault because of all the annoying people who play it...

But so far I haven't run into many of those people on Halo 2, maybe ive been lucky :)

it was more funny and annoying than making me angry, but I think you can have them reported for that kind of thing. I ended up quiting the rest of the match

What's dumb is he has no actual idea as to the color of your skin. "Sounding" white or black is generally a product of your environment, not determined by the shade of your skin. There are black guys who "sound" white, just as there are definately white guys who "sound" black. It's pretty dumb.

But if someone were calling me whitey I'd just call him blacky. But that's just me. One time I was leaving my favorite local mexican restaurant and this bum, who was hispanic, introduced himself by calling out, "Hey, white boy!" So I replied, "What do you want, brown boy?" The look on his face will forever remain in my memory.

Heh, we got a group the other night talking smack on us (4 player party). We didn't even start the game yet and they were making fun of our names and the fact that they were "13-0," we kept our mouths shut and proceeded to absolutely pwn them in 3 plot territories @ Lockout. I think the time was something like 3 mins to 1:25. They immediately quit without a word after the game was over.

The best defense against a [crap]-talker is beating them.

ya, i am in a clan, and just because my rank is 7, im not allowed to join in any clan matches lol, thats really sad people care that much over a game, and i was playin a game and some dude kept using the sword over and over and over, finally this guy said you stupid "N_g_e_" fill in the blanks because i hate using that word, so i say woah dude watch your mouth and dont get so mad because your getting beat, he explodes sayin every cuss word and words iv never heard before, how can people get so mad over a little game??
