The reason they have that is so that if you trip over your cord you won't take the whole xbox to the floor with you

Wait... You forget to make sure all your stuff is together when you leave, and you're mad at a little kid? Sounds like it's your mistake to me.

I saw a gamespot selling just the break away peice for about 5 dollars, if you really feel you have to play, you can go buy one, but then again, you could just call your friend, go over and get the peice back

You're smart :)
At least you have learned a valuable lesson from this horrible experience...I hope...

Thank god for the break away wire though. The xbox is so big, if you accidentally pulled it down.. you'd probably kill somone or a small animal.

lol how high are your guys's xboxes? mine is like 1 foot off the ground in an entertainment center. Do you put it ontop of your TV's or what?

It's there for a reason, and it's your own fault for leaving it, Simple...

Actually, some controllers don't have the breakaway feature.
My Micron doesn't have one. I think it's by Intec.

I think its a good idea to have the breakaway thing.

I personally love the break away wire, ive tripped over it numberous times, and I sure wouldnt want my xbox falling no matter how high it is. Even if your mom came early you still should have checked that you had everything with you, if you were in a rush it wouldnt take THAT long. Why didnt you just go back later to pick it up? You cant really blame anyone but yourself.

Mine is on a shelf, and I'll be honest, the breakaway has saved my Xbox on numerous occasions. I'm very clumsy when it comes to those wires. So it does serve a very good purpose.

The breakaway wire also preserves the controller connection on the unit itself.
I also think it was a GREAT idea, being that people have tripped over my controller wire a gang of times.

It seems as though you're alone on this one champ. I thank God for the breakaway wire, I would have destroyed my box by now.

I love the breakaway cable, I've tripped over my controller cord tons of times, and my Xbox would be destroyed if it wasn't for the breakaway cable. I have my Xbox about 3.5 feet off the ground, so a few falls from that height would do some damage.

Why not duct tape it?

My Xbox is a little over a foot off the ground and there are so many wires for me to trip on. Everytime I get up to go to the bathroom, I spend aobut 10 seconds shaking the wires off my foot. If it weren't for the breakaway, the Xbox might've broke through the floor and killed my mother directly below.

lol, ouch. maybe you should go wireless if you can afford it. I know i cant, but i mean seriously now it takes me 2 seconds to do exactly what you said, there are not THAT many wires.

buy a new one and have your friend pay you the expenses, or his brother. They are replaceable now.
