Sign In Problem

This is so ******* me off. I don't know what's wrong. I can't sign in with my XBOX Live name (WhisperXBA). When I try to sign in through Halo 2, it says I am having network problems.. so I do the trouble shooter, everything checks out.. but it happens again and again.. I can't get in.

So I try my old name which is still valid (wwfraven2k4).. i can sign in just fine.

It's not a bad passcode, because you get a different msg if that's wrong.

My account cannot be banned, I have done nothing wrong.. and I believe you get a different message if your account is shut down.

WTF is up?

When I go to XBOX.com and sign in there, I get this message where my friends list should be:

There was an error retrieving your Xbox Live Friends. Please try again later.

The mystery deepens.

We're getting these problems too (LTM...) and we can't figure it out, pissin us off.

I am seeing this on alot of forums and I have several accounts on my box and all can sign on to XBL except mine (BREVITY), so IMO XBL is partialy down right now.

Ok well good to know it's not just me, probably a Live-wide problem.

I agree, I was over my friends house and we had the error for about 2 hours
(we would check back every 10 minutes or so)

its strange that its only happening on some names.. it would be more understandable if it was only happening in certain areas, but 2 names registered with the same credit card.. one works one doesnt..

anyway it doesnt matter it was working this morning

Whisper that was me. I was at his house and was too lazy to signoff his name and signon mine...meh

Anyways, I noticed Bungie.net and Xboxlive.com friend list was working now. Maybe that has something to due with XBL's downtime last night.
