No kidding the magazine is clearly saying that it will have more information about something Halo related in their next article.

Interesting...I sure hope its downloadable content. But if its an actual continuation of the story, I'll buy it it. I mean c-mon...its Halo 2...
Or maybe it'll be one of those $5 downloadable packages?

Ok, I think it's definately going to be DC:
1. Retailers would know about this so they could start planning for mass chaos (again) my boss hasn't heard anything.
2. Bungie is a lot of things. One thing they aren't are sellouts. If they try to sell a part two then they will completely destroy their fanbase.
3. Yeah, that would be dumb if I had to blow 50 more dollars on the last half of a game.
I don't care if I do tho, I would SO buy it. Or at least check it out from work :D
There's no way Bungie has enough content to justify the release of a new game this soon.... have they been holding out?

They could be holding out. It took 2 years to make this game...maybe they made more, and decided to split them.

Well, if it were an ending to the Halo 2 story, I don't get why you people wouldn't pay 50 bucks for it. I mean plenty of people bought GR: IT and RB63: BA when those were merely games with new maps. I'm sure none of you were that intrigued with the campaign's of either of those games. I would be happy if Bungie released Halo 2: (insert catchy title here) for 39.99 and had 5 new levels that left us at least satisfied with the story of Halo 2 and some new maps and maybe a new weapon or two or even a new multiplayer mode.
But here is what I think is going to happen. Xbox Next comes out this fall supposedly. I haven't heard of any big launch titles yet (except PD0..not sure if it will make launch) and they will need something big to convince all gamers to get the next Xbox and not wait for a new Sony or Nintendo system. Could it be that Bungie had made Halo 2 a long ass game, and then Microsoft convinced them to split it into two halves and release the second has a Halo 3 for the Xbox Next? This is just speculation by me, but I think it could be possible.
or it could be a joke..
the point is dont get your hopes up ppl, whatever happens will happen if it wont it wont.

It's probobly DLC, Bungie isn't like UBI, who makes a sequel every 3 months.
In addition, I wish people would stop whining about Halo 2 ending. Has anyone thought that this might be a trilogy, or more, and we're just in the midst of it, like LOTR? There will be a Halo 3, so everyone just relax. Besides, my jaw dropped enough during the game with all the twists and turns and awesome environments that I wasn't left longing for a spectacular ending, because now I'm just looking forward to Halo 3, while thoroughly enjoying Halo 2.

Well, the rumor has been crushed.
http://news.spong.com/detail/news.asp?prid=8053
So, reading the latest issue of low-readership ultra-tabloid shelf-filler Xbox World, one could be mistaken for thinking that the next issue will contain some massive announcement regarding Halo 2, perhaps detailing additional content or something equally exciting.
The magazine’s somewhat disingenuous back page reads, “Halo 2: Didn’t think there was more? Think again!” in a large banner across some lovely Master Chief artwork. Underneath it reads, “Plus! If all goes to plan, a massive world exclusive first look next month.”
Get ready forum dwellers, here’s the skinny. In the next Xbox World there will be, and get this, a multiplayer guide booklet to Halo 2. Oh yeah baby. And the first look that the magazine may or may not get is the new Medal of Honor title.
Interesting to watch, the games media sector. As online readership and advertising spends skyrocket, magazine sales are flagging. And although print publications are so often willing to denigrate online journalism, this year alone illustrates that magazines are willing to fudge scores time and time again and constantly lie to their readerships. Of course, the Xbox World back page isn’t a lie. It could be argued however, that it is intentionally misleading, aimed at securing a repeat purchase.
Sell your magazine collections! It is, as they say, all over.

Skoot, not that I'm saying the magazine ad is reliable or means anything of any importance, but Spong.com is a joke amongst video game news sites. Spong has a reputation of being about as reliable as a one leg man in a dance contest.

Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. But that pretty much crushed all hope for me. I do know one thing however:
There's no way Xbox 2 will beat PS3 without a KILLER launch library, as of now that pretty much means that they need Halo 3, I guess we will find out tho...
