View Full Version : Halo 1 says Forerunner = Humans.

ok I made the suggestion that Forerunners were most likely Humans

so my brother in law was playing Halo 1 today, and I was watching him go through the library. 343 Guilty Spark says something about those who built the place, then says "I -am- happy to see some of them survived to reproduce"

He meant the flood.

God, wouldn't it just be totally nasty if the flood sexually reproduced :p

go listen to it again

it seemed like the flood when I first heard it, but hearing it again in the context of Halo 2, he may very well have been talking about humans, as he does refer to those who built the place (who we know aren't the flood).

yeah, I know you all know how to parrot the last thing someone said. good job.

plus look at it logically. no **** he doesn't mean the flood. all of the rings, for what we know, are chalk full of the flood.

I beleive humans were actually the forrunners, another supportive thing the Spark said was that Master Cheif was the "reclaimer"

your theory has been owned.

if the flood reproduced how come they dont have little wangs between their legs when they jump at you

ugh, why on earth would guilty spark be happy that the flood survived anyway? the oracles, if they have emotions, hate the flood. they do everything they can to get the damn rings activated if you haven't noticed

and it's not like it'd be news that they survived to reproduce (if spark was, as you guys think, talking about the flood), because the guy and all his sentinels have probably been runnin around for hundreds or thousands of years shooting the damn things.

anyway.

i'm right bastards

at least i'm right that he's not talking about the flood

we'll see if they humans are the forerunner though

All the forerunner are dead. They activated the rings. Watch the last cutscene of the game again. The rings were activated 101,217 years ago so I'm sure if the forerunner were back we would know. I wouldn't put it past the forerunner that they made humans as reclaimers (all humans are reclaimers thanks to the insight from 2401) to activate the rings in case the Flood got out of hand.

so...... why does the flood exist then if its a threat... sorry i'm a lil slow on the halo story

It was in containment until it was let loose on the Halos.

Maybe.

The forerunner don't necessarily have to be dead, assuming that Earth was the 'ark' referred to in the end, and as an ark (following the biblical themes stuck in the game), housed what few forerunners 'managed to survive,' as the Oracle put it, and survived long enough to reclaim what they had. Further, Earth is a significant religious site, as we find Regret there out of nowhere, not expecting human resistance.

I think it's pretty clear that the Forerunners are humans, and that they weren't wiped out but were nearly wiped out. Nothing contradicts this, and you've all found pieces of evidence that support it in game.

What about the control panel on Sacred Icon with 2 thumbs???
Not very human, Way more like Elites, doesn't mean the elites have anything to do with it.

I like the idea. It fits in many ways. I've wondered before at Guilty's statement there from the first game, and the fact that he immediately calls MC 'reclaimer'. Why not the other humans? Why does he seemingly 'recognize' Master Chief?

It would be interesting if indeed humans were in fact descendants of the Forerunners, and if the Earth was where they retreated to after activiting the rings at some time in the past.

Weird, too, this thread. My little brother was saying something about why he thought the Forerunners were actually human the other day. I'll have to pick his brain for his reasoning.

in halo 2 the guilty spark xxx or whatever he's called on that halo calls the girl (that captian or whoever broad) a reclaimer as well so reclaimer is refering to humans in general, not just the master chief.

All humans appear to be reclaimers in Halo 2.

Don't assume Halo 1 wasn't purposely set up to do this... If you remember closely, the Oracle never comes in contact with other humans. Right as your about to step foot into the swamp with the flood and sentinels for the first time, all of your Marines stop following. So in Halo 1, they may have planned this small detail to make the story work.

i agree with the theory about the humans being forerunner descendants...
its just a hunch (no reason to get excited about it)

but the question is...
why can only the human girl marine touch the index (remember at the end of the game, the brute tells her to put the index in the panel or he'll kill her.. then he slams her hand down so it goes in) why could'nt he touch it?

also what happened to 343 guilty spark as we last saw him he survived the explosion from halo.
same thing with sarge(black guy) he survived also (if you beat halo on legend you saw him and the covenant elite hugging then the elite grabs his ass (rofl) right before the explosion came to them) how did the "arbiter" survive?

wow im getting waayyy into this (stupid bungie rotting my mind)

commence rambling on
