Halo 2 vs. it's predocessor?

Is the general concencous that H2 is not as good as H1? And i mean in retrospect, not comparing what H2 has to what the 3 year old H1 does not!

PS. i have read all the reviews, and i haven't had time to indulge my self into the video game world for about 4-6 months so i missed all the fire works when H2 wqas released last month!

The word is PREDECESSOR!

But anyways. I find them about equal. Theyre both fun games but Halo 1 was more of a shock. You had no idea what to expect of it and WHAM you find its a great game. Halo 2 was what I expected and it was just as fun as Halo 1. The story was better (albeit not finished) and it had all the new features. So theyre pretty much equal to me.

Halo 2 slaughters Halo. People need to let go of the game they spent so much time with and realize that only improvements were made to Halo 2. Get over it. It's okay to like the obvious better sequel than the original.

yup halo 2 is way better than halo... i just played halo 2 for an hour on multiplay and compared it to an hour of halo multiplay afterwards and for me its clearly halo2 is the better game... alot more competition and a way to kill your opponents :D

i mostly like halo 2 for the fact that the sinlgle player was more fun to me..

also the multyplayer is more balanced, before it was everybody uses the pistol and your dead in 3 hits... got boring

Ok now I understand...for me Halo 2 is the better of the two when it comes to graphics, multiplayer, and gameplay but Halo: CE had a way better campaign for the simple fact that the ending of Halo 2 sucked major balls and thats something I will never get over. In the end though Halo 2 wins the battle of old vs new because I don't even have the first one :p

Halo 1 was alot better than Halo 2 in certain areas like multiplayer. Halo 2's multiplayer system was designed for have LAN parties or going on line. The first Halo was just for having a couple of friends over and just duking it out on a single X-Box.

Not really.... Halo: CE wasn't even made for multiplayer in any way shape or form. It was just there with some modes. I really cannot believe I've just witnessed someone saying Halo 1 is better BECAUSE of Multiplayer. Halo 2's MP kicks Halo 1's in the balls, sets it on fire, and pisses on the ashes... its that much better. It wasn't until the PC version of Halo: CE that multiplayer was really involved in the game.

Why should the hype of a game change the actual quality of the game? I find so many people think Halo was better because it was more of a suprise, but that just makes no sense. If you examined the amount of enjoyment you could get out of a game and the amount of time it would last, you would realize that anything that happens before the game comes out has nothing to do with quality, unless you choose for it to. I left all forums for a month before release of Halo2 becuase I didn't want to see spoilers, so anyone of you could have put the blinders on for all three of the years and then you would have had just as much of a suprise. Therefore it is something the individual causes not the game, ergo it is not the games fault.

As for the sword I can think of four different weapon sets that can defeat it off the top of my head.
