Rumors or lies?

Well i have not seen an update and it is the new year, so i guess we can dismiss those rumors of stat reset, but the day has just begun9 :yikes:

i 'heard' that they wont release DLAble content, b/c they're going to put it on a disk for halo 2.5 for xbox2 or nexbox or wtf it is

heh, so basically we all just wasted 50 bucks on a game that were all probaly gonna buy again plus another 300-400 bucks on a new system. Knowing microsoft a new type of xbox live, where you have to buy a new subscription.

Surely they would have to put out some sort of content. Why take the risk of disenfranchising the 5 million customers from buying your next product?

Bungie has said that they will release new content, but it's not an overnight thing. New maps must be drawn up from scratch. Even if it was an old map from Halo PC, it has to be restructured to make use of the weapons and vehicles and new graphics must be made to skin the map and new sound sets must be created to use the Halo 2 sound enviroment in a Halo 1 map.
Then according to Bungie, they have to extensively test the new maps and make tweaks to ensure nothing gets unnoticed and no major glitches can be found.
The testing phase can take a lot of time depending on how many people are doing it.

The same for vehicles. Design, animate, skin, then add sounds then test it extensively.

It's obvious by now they aren't going to use the Mongoose as DLC because as far as I could see on the Extra DVD, it was already ready to be used.

So, it would be bad business in my eyes to make 5 million customers mad by not releasing DLC.
The only thing we can do is wait and see.

DLC will come eventually, it always takes time.
Even if they charge for it, they will make a killing :)

The rumors of Halo 2.5 shouldn't be listened to no matter what magazine or internet article says. Not one person from Bungie (or anyone with validity) has confirmed it or spoken about it as of yet. It is not worth your time to read rumors.

If the standby glitch was fixed by a patch a stat reset wouldnt even be needed because the people who have high stats because of the glitching will rank down because of their lack of skill. The stat system was well thought out.

Cool.. Very cool. Hopefully they'll release maps that can accomodate big team battles. I'm getting very tired of Water Works.

cant wait for some new maps... hopefully they dont rush it and leave error for glitching... but dont take too long, like rainbow six 3, and by the time it gets out, the game is dead (i doubt this will happen)
